DesPrado, it says destination Freeport. That is a port on Grand Bahama Island in the Northern Bahamas around 300 miles from the drill site.
I am assuming she will pick up supplies, fuel and possibly crew.

Great news, all on schedule so far. This must cause a stir in the market now after all the recent speculation and doubts.
I will just about beat her there, I wonder what the plan is in Freeport as that is still a fair distance from the drill site. Probably around 300 miles so 1.5 days travel on icemax.

I looked at that site last year when they had started construction. Next to the waterway and should do well.

Honestly I would have expected the Bahamas to get $5-10 a barrel but I do not know the ins and outs of this kind of deal.
I guess my point is that if it is $1 or $5 then that number should be used for the potential financial benefit for the Bahamian population

Nelly, at 28 billion barrels that is less that $0.18 a barrel. I would have expected them to get at least $1 a barrel.

Reason I ask because the only number I have seen is a possibility of $5 billion to the Bahamas but that seems very low if the 28 billion barrels is correct as the upside on the entire area

Out of interest, can I ask those who have a bit more knowledge on oil extraction and the normal terms that get agreed. If the total 28 billion barrels materialize, what would be our likely cut per barrel and what would be the cut for the Bahamas?

EggChaser, I think I would agree. They finished fueling, no point of getting the tugs to a dock then having to pay again to be moved in the next 48h.
The weather generally sits down a little at night so I would not be surprised if they leave tonight or tomorrow night.

Not on the ship but I will be having a few chats while in the Bahamas. Obviously not about BPC (that would be insider info) but the general market conditions.

I do t remember any referendum on oil. They are not binding anyway. As someone poster at some point we had a referendum on gambling a few years back and the people voted against and the government just ignored it.

I agree £2.30 would be great. I can see the rationale for the much higher numbers as all you have to do is look at Ferrari that only produce a little over 10,000 units a year.
What I have said in the past is that 50% of the Ferrari market cap would be a great target.
