I would have to challenge the statement that at 12,000 vehicles the company probably wouldn’t be profitable. That is indeed the plan in 2 years time and I believe that if that is achieved then the company would be profitable and the borrowing costs will have come down dramatically.
I am no charlatan. I have many investments and funds that I have little interest in and just see as investments. Probably to my detriment I like AML on a personal level so my heart rules (I know that is dangerous and not a good policy)
I will sometimes have some useful info from certain avenues that I can share. My discussions here are my opinion based on my experience and don’t claim to be an expert in trading.
I am a property developer by trade and I am invested here because I believe in the team and the draw of the brand. The wealthy are still looking for luxury goods and I think AML is in a good position to take advantage of that.
The debt is something that holds the company back. The terms and high rates being more of a factor than the debt itself. If the debt was at 3% then the share price would be multiples of the current.
2645 “ How to lose £40k in 24 hours.... If anyone believes you bought half a mill.”
I am glass half full kind of guy. My request wasn’t fully executed so I prefer to say i saved £30k on the remainder of my stake.
Why are you so bitter on AML anyway? Did you take a hit? Do you want to buy in? If not why are you here? Just looking out for all us fools, if so I thank you.
I am not denying that my target was £2.85 however situations change as do targets. Not sure what your point is anyway. I am just buying shares and will state “MY VIEWS” everyone can decide if they want to read them or if you like 2645 you are welcome to block me.
AML has some very large corporate as well as private shareholders that I believe represent a certain degree of safety from what you are describing.
Stroll and his team will do what they can to protect those relationships so although what you are describing is possible it would be undesirable for any of the current team to go down that route.
2645, I guess you are just one of those guys. Good to hear from the rest of you. Yes I did sign an NDA on the V12 but can’t remember the exact date. It was definitely March, might have been the 17th.
Buying with this situation looming is risky but as stated I believe in the business plan and the brand strength. The debt is only a problem if you can’t keep up with the payments and very normal with a company who has built new factories and has gone through a major restructuring and expansion.
All true 2645, yes CERP, BPC was a bust. Always stated it was a huge gamble. I took a big loss. I don’t claim to be an expert but I will give my opinion and people can choose how they want to take it.
Yes Noah, the cafe is doing very well. Podium Place is the name. 2645 you can do your research if you like. I actually transferred my Valhalla deposit due to the fact that they changed the whole philosophy from first advertised. I do have a deposit on the Valkyrie Spider which is probably still 18-24 months from being delivered. You are welcome to visit Podium and see some of my collection along with the V12 Vantage some time later in the summer.
Anyway, I sold AML around the £20 mark a little over a year ago having done well. This was prompted not because I knew this drop was going to happen but because I had been put through the ringer over the previous 2 years with AML and managed to get out with a big profit.
I continue to buy the vehicles and believe in the brand strength which is why I wanted to get back in. I believe the leadership is strong and agree with the future intentions.
I always compare AML to Ferrari as they are the closest competitor in the business structure and size. We have along way to go to get to the Ferrari market cap but see no reason once we are producing the same number of vehicles that we cannot be valued at 50% of Ferrari.
Happy to be back involved and good luck to everyone.
No idea but I will try to fill the rest of my order tomorrow if we see 920 again
I am back in. 62,000 @ 920 early this morning. They were supposed to get 108,000 but I set the buy limit at 920 so they couldn’t fill the order.
I will try to as useful as possible with any info I get.
Would be interesting to know how many cars Aston sold to Russia and the Ukraine last year. I doubt very many.
Hi Noah, nice to see some old names still around. Agreed the war and a general market downturn are probably close and a worry when investing. When considering the drop AML have had in the last few months I hope this will be a bottoming out and I see a lot of positive news coming for AML.
Thx carp, I have a Vantage V12 coming. Lovely thing, the embargo should be lifted in a couple of weeks also so people can get a look at it.
I will see how the trades go in the morning to take a position.
I would agree that the drop seems a bit unjustified but when you look aft the market cap at 1.2 bil it is still 3x the low.
I am however looking to get back in tomorrow as I feel the future is bright with the 707 and the 2023 cars on the horizon with AML infotainment rather than old Merc tech. I think they will outperform in 2022/3
It is strange that they would say “cash burn would be similar” with Valkyrie deliveries along with the V12 Vantage limited production cars boosting the bottom line over the next 24months.
The base sales seem solid and should increase on the DBX side this year especially with the 707 model incoming which is pitched directly against the very successful URUS.
Hopefully they are sandbagging a little so as to over deliver rather than the disappointing results missing targets which has become the norm.
I am definitely looking to get back in and really hope for the success of the company regardless of weather I am involved or not.
Hey Nell, yes all good with me. I am still in contact with Paul Oz, he does some amazing stuff. We have a gallery style art setup at Podium Place and both have a keen interest in cars.
I went to the Aston factory last week. They have a new limited run car coming out which I can’t disclose info on as I had to sign an NDA. From what I understand all the allocations have been taken up so I guess that is positive.
I also went down the Valkyrie production line. 3 cars will be delivered soon. They were going off to do final testing at Silverstone this week. Probably saw 10-12 cars in different stages of build. Very impressive however I still feel they will take longer to manufacture than anticipated with now over 250 with the extra spider units.
I do hear quite a bit of unrest in the automotive space. McLaren I think are in big trouble. As I said before I think I will sit and watch a bit longer before I get involved again. Probably keep and eye out to see if any useful insight comes up on the forum.
Anybody know why 2645 is so agro over AML?
Not looking for any big welcome back, just info on AML. BPC was a big bust unfortunately but it was always a risk/reward play. Anyway life goes on. Fortunately made more on my AML trades that covered the loss.
Thinking of getting back in here but the forum seems very frosty and not much to say on the positive side so I guess I will wait it out a bit longer.
Thx 2645, anybody have a positive position list?
Hello everyone by the way. Thought I would have a look at AML again.
Hello, long time no see. I am going to be a little lazy. Can someone put up some bullet points of the cause of this drop.
