Eggs/Baskets??12 Apr 2019 14:33
Everyone has heard the phrase concerning 'Eggs and Baskets' but I am wondering about this subject
in a wider sphere.
There are a number of investors here with assets well in excess of a million British pounds.
(Not necessarily all in Bmn shares, and excluding property etc)
There are even more investors here with assets running into the hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Bearing in mind that by law and in the event of an individual financial house going 'under',Each
Investor is only guaranteed a return of assets to the maximum value of Β£85,000.
(Remember Northern Rock, although I concede an extreme example). Are or have any of you
spread your investments in order to mitigate the risk, albeit a rather small one?.
Personally, I have spread my investments over a number of institutions but would still be
over-exposed should the worst happen.
In practical terms, especially for those with 'Mega' portfolio's it is inconvenient to have
multiple accounts spread far and wide.
How have you decreased your exposure to such possibilities or do you all consider
the risk over-stated and thereby keep your assets in only one or two places?.
Not of course a request for personal information, just generalisations.
Cheers Guys :~))
