SOTR...And All...
It is well known on this board, and elsewhere, that the quality and knowledge of certain posters here is
truly remarkable.
Most of us who are interested and invested in the Bmn group of companies read every word that is
written and thank unreservedly those individuals for their unselfish dedication and free access to their
considerable research. Experts in their fields no doubt.....But, (Isn't there always a but ), We should
all be slightly wary of some of the views posted. Read and check....Read and check.
Many here will of course remember 'Corbs' and his regular 'Musings'.
He,and his views were so highly regarded in his time here that anything that he posted was almost
unaminously taken as gospel and very few posters disagreed with his opinions.
The respect that this man received was well earned and he has been missed by many who had the
good fortune to read and respond to his postings. I became enthralled by 'Corbs' and a few other
writers on a Sunday afternoon while bored and aimlessly trawling the Lse boards. The very next day
I bought my first few Bmn shares. Vanadium was nowhere on the Bmn radar at that time.
Despite his revered standing amongst many Bmn contributers, and a reputation as being
an 'Expert' on virtually everything Bmn related, 'Corbs' didn't always get it right.
Let me give you an example....
Vanadium had already been incorporated into the Bmn stable and the company had busied
itself managing to substantiate the quality and quantity of the reserves at the time.
Fortune then held a question and answer webcast with I think Brr that outlined where
Bmn had come from and more importantly where he thought it was going. It was not the first
webcast that Fortune had given but for me it was so enlightening that I had to listen to it again.
For the first time I came away from listening hardly believing what I thought I had heard.
You had to listen carefully. Where the I's and We's were put and in which context.
I was convinced of what he had said and I then decided to post my thoughts on this board.
For I believe, the first time, someone (me) came on here and declared.....
''Fortune and the Viljoen brothers are going to take the Vanadium assets all the way to production''.
No one on this board, at that time, believed me, so much so that I had to post a defence of my views
under the headline of 'Slings and Arrows'.
Two of the most influential posters at the time was 'Corbs' and NickD. Both disagreed with my opinion.
Not in a vociferous way, that was not their style and in Nick's case is still not...No.. they had a reasoned
argument that 'FM' and the VJ's had a previous history of finding viable economic quantities of minerals
and then selling those assets on for someone else to take forward. They believed at the time that
this was the well trodden path that Bmn would continue to follow.
