Question to retirees - do you generally spend more or less during your retirement?
*******
Plan for your retirement as soon as possible.
If your plan comes off correctly.....you will find you have much more money coming in than going out.
I spend half the money per annum than I did when working without my living standards dropping.
Use the spare to invest....Sxx of course.
Thats the Grandkids x2 homes paid for!

There is so much talk of unnecessary anxiety on this bb of late....can one not be patient and let things pan out as we mostly expect.
A plan has been in place for some time now, with very little variation.
There is no plan B, IMVHO quite rightly so, as it will not be necessary.
Relax, chill and enjoy the weather/holidays (bet a few here are anxious about that as well!)
Muckshifter.....not fit to be an investor, anywhere.

Mr.dt.
What you must remember is that some posters have been invested here for nigh on ten years or more PAAA being one of them.
If it was not for him and about ten others i could name......you would not have a Sirius Minerals to invest in today.
Many times in the past we have got close to zero in our coffers, it is our hard earned that give you that benefit today.
Be thankful for those that have stayed the distance and are still here, many have been in and now taken their profits to enable you to buy their shares. (gosh is it 2000% dilution PAAA?)
I would never deride a LTH, you will find reading RNS's going back 10 years what some investors have been through ,so far quite interesting.

Twonko.10th May?
I remain cautious, but at the same time, optimistic about this unique project. I am a bit more overweight in SXX than I feel entirely comfortable with.
*******
You said modest in your previous post......in May you were overweight.
Maybe that is the reason you are so nervy.

There is a big difference in realising a CFD and selling off of hard core shares.
But you knew that did you not?

Many thanks to Myosotis for his excellent recent posts, full of factual information about Sirius Minerals, and never diverting to other subjects which have nothing to do with Sirius Minerals. His posts are brilliant. ********** Says his wifey! ;) Cheers. Camp. Tick-tock tick-tock.
Text copied with thanks....Skinny ADVFN :- House broker Shore Capital note today: "Sirius had been looking to execute c.2Mtpa of incremental agreements in 2018, of which today’s agreement represents a significant 17.5% of that. Furthermore, Sirius’s aggregate peak contracted sales volume now stands at 4.7Mtpa (previously: 4.4Mtpa). Another three or four similar-sized deals would take Sirius into the 6-7Mtpa target range to support the Stage 2 debt financing (for which Sirius hopes to obtain initial lender commitments in mid-2018, towards execution in late 2018). The 7-year agreement with Dubai-headquartered ITL sees volumes rising to 350ktpa in Year 4, and gives ITL exclusive marketing rights into Nigeria. Nigeria happens to be the largest market in West Africa (and is a key market for fertiliser growth in the region), and ITL is amongst the largest suppliers of fertiliser into that country, with access to distribution and logistics infrastructure (including storage, port concessions and NPK blending facilities). The agreement’s pricing mechanism is linked to an undisclosed product benchmark, which according to Sirius is consistent with the existing portfolio of agreements. We are hopeful that once a few more contracts have been announced, Sirius will be able to unveil a higher average price than the US$145/t disclosed in late 2016. If this proves the case, it should be very positive for the share price (less in the way of contracted volumes would be required to support the Stage 2 financing; average received prices could be expected to be higher due to the steep discounts required to secure take-or-pay agreements; NPV would therefore be significantly boosted). Sirius also reported that it continues to make good progress on all aspects of its paradigm-shifting North Yorkshire polyhalite project, and that it is in “active discussions” with potential customers in other key markets such as Europe, India and Brazil. Shore Capital last visited the project in early May 2018, as of which time Sirius remained on time and on budget to deliver the key milestones that are first polyhalite and commercial production. We have previously opined that there will almost always be delays in projects of such magnitude as Sirius’s, and noted that the company has been doing the right thing in seeking and attempting to capitalise on opportunities to accelerate activities where possible. While Sirius is currently at development stage and still some years from becoming a cash flow-generating company, we believe that an investment in Sirius should become progressively de-risked and enjoy significant value uplift as it advances towards production." 25-07-13 Don't laugh at me for succombing..... SXX.L I have to confess I sold out last week as I felt things were seriously starting to stack against SXX. That was the first time I have sold out due to jitters for a very long time! I do still think there are hurdles, and length of timing for PP and money is the bank lasting until then are still concerns, but these can all be overcome, so I am back in as a good speculative long term punt. To put all my cards on the table, I am neither down nor up financially as a result of my sell and buy back, but I am at least content again! GLA, Mini. There is a story here...know your limits & never be greedy. Note the dates....patience may be a virtue...but not always. Mini has had 5 years of additional retirement and is still travelling. Cheers. 19-02-13 Re: Att Mini Investor SXX.L Hi again, and thanks for the write-up! Yes, after holding SXX from the early penny days, I sold out in entirety in Nov 2011@ 32p to supplement our early retirement fund and also de-risk my SIPP which was 100% invested in SXX. Hubby and I then gave up work end Sept 2012. We travelled to Europe for 1 month during October, then went to Singapore, Australia and Cambodia for 2 months over Christmas, returning home end of Jan 2013. SXX has afforded us a great annual travel budget so we have more travelling planned this year. But, after years of following SXX, friends had bought into SXX etc upon my recommendation, so I never cancelled the interactive investor SXX daily price alert. So, I have to admit I have bought back to a lesser extent via my SIPP (thanks again to Shanks Pony for that life changing recommendation 2yrs ago!!) @ 20p & 14p last Summer/Autumn and by the time my SIPP becomes accessible in 8 years time, that will have given SXX plenty of time to mature nicely. Life is good as they say, and all thanks to SXX and some excellent posters on this BB. With regards to the events of this/last week; over the years of investing in SXX I have experienced more ups and downs than I care to remember. Sadly, they are usually for no reason at all other than sheer panic, foolhardy stop losses and listening to the unfounded views of others, so unless things really go pear-shaped on the planning front, I'm back in again for the long term. Good luck all, SXX really can be life-changing... Mini
A few posts on the other side, some here may recognise them from years ago, however if they are digested some people may pause for thought. ***** 28-11-11 They say that SXX is life changing... SXX.L Well SXX certainly IS life changing! As a long term holder of SXX, I did some sums just over 2wks ago (at the then price of 19.5p) to work out if that would generate enough money for hubby and I retire on, supplemented by our other investments & pensions etc. Things looked great then, and having redone my sums at today's price, our retirment fund even permits us a future "holiday" fund of 17k / year to pursue our love of travelling... Since that realisation 2wks ago we have done NOTHING but talk of retiring in 2012 when our mortgage finally comes to an end, so we have had plenty of time to mull over our decision and re-check the income vs expenditure spreadsheet. So whilst I have always advocated holding my SXX holding, I finally sold out this morning and the champagne is on ice for this evening when hubby gets home from work! Forgive me for selling out early - every person has their own target, and mine was to secure our retirement in "real currency" as opposed to "paper currency". No doubt SXX will continue to rise and I will probably regret selling too early, but our decision was based on comfort, not greed, so we have gone down the peace of mind route to "secure" our retirement dreams.... I truly wish you all well for the future as this is one amazing company with massive potential. I will repeat again my HUGE thanks to Shanks Pony for opening my eyes to moving 62k of my SERPS money into an SXX SIPP just 3 months ago in September. I also sold my original 62k SXX SIPP holding this morning for 174k, which together with my company pension means my own pension will look very healthy for my 55th birthday in 10 years time. Thanks also to all the fine posters who have very generously shared all their analysis, thoughts and findings - this BB really is a huge SXX family! The future is bright, I look forward to reading all your own personal stories in the coming months and years.... Mini
Yes but dilution is the worry! ******* I and many other Lths here have been diluted like hell to get to this point! Do you think I am a worrier? Stage2 will not imo be a problem at all....this team have the knowledge and knowhow to get cash by whatever means.....they are principally all money men. Have a read up on Scrimshaws history and others with Fortescue raising $3bil during difficult times, what with Twiggys history with Anaconda. That was a miracle in itself. This BOD are a class act, Plan B will not be needed, but if it does I am confident we are in very safe hands. GK I find your derisk of 200k as unfounded, unless you need to splurge elsewhere. Let the PR continue as recent times for a few more months, then watch the rerate again. The second time this year. Cheers. Camp. Tick-tock tick-tock.

I know theres no difference in terms of value of shares but would it make SXX more attractive to future investors if there were fewer shares in circulation. ********* Curious why you should think that Fred? This is perfectly placed to be of value once matured/in production IMVHO. Cheers. Camp. Tick-tock tick-tock.
