Well, ended the day at 1,617. So with an XD drop tomorrow of 48.48p that would take us to 1,568
You really think a further drop of another 48p on top of that is possible? (to 1,520)
I'm one who sold out, so am hoping so.....
Pig
Jing,
SP closed @ 1,619. So am already 20p into that 48p dividend.
Don't see £15.
I'd be looking to buy my £10k back 1,520/1,550
Pig
SiDi,
So is that 9p for all costs?
I got 1,639p. So less the divi of 48.48p + 9p, making 1,582 my break even point??
Don't forget you would have 2 dealing charges. £5 twice for me with iWeb.
Pig
mald,
for myself am only looking to buy back in IF the SP drops dramatically.
My average was 1,428; so have 'locked in' a nice capital gain in my ISA.
Would you mind please giving your calculations which arrive at 65p a share?
Am genuinely curious
Pig
Out @ 1,639.34p
Best of luck to all long term holders
Pig
Yep, my target is 1,630/1,650
Then i'm out as think divi drop will be more than the 48p
Could be wrong.
Not long to wait
Pig
I may be wrong but i seem to recall it has to pass shareholder approval yet
Or has it been voted through already
Not sure what to do with any Woodside shares either
Pig
Agree with that Paul
But i just wanted to lock in a good return & not carry all the risk of something happening
P/f is 62% cash at the moment. Exited oil n gas too.
Pig
Throne,
i like to hear people's alternative strategies on making money. That sounds like one to put some thought to.
Pig
norrab
am still sticking to the policy of selling into any rise on the run up to XD next Thursday.
Would like between 1,630 & 1,650. 17 to circ 20% return on my capital at that.
If the SP only drops, say, 20p XD & then carries on going up that's someone else's profit.
So i would be looking for a drop of the 48.48p plus another 10p to cover costs before possibly buying back. In reality i would like to see a drop a good bit more than that.
Pig
Monty,
the SP appears to be happy bobbing from the 1,850 mark on down day's, to recover to 1,960 region on better day's. +/-6%
My average is 1,910(ish) & have set my sell point in the area of £21/22. That's a 10/15% return within my ISA.
Tho will also consider topping up at £18, should i get the chance.
No Vale board on LSE, but am also looking there for medium term return at a buy in price of $11
Good weekend all
Pig
I sold out @ 445.52 on 26/Oct. Locked in a very nice capital gain plus a couple of dividends. It just seemed to me that the rise from 360 was too fast & that some others might take profits putting downward pressure on the price.
I remember the last time the SP rallied to, i think 460, and then dropped to the 360 mark, i said if i get the chance to get 450 again i'd take it.
I wish the very best to those holding, but with the Evergrande issue, DOW, NAS & FTSE at high's i didn't want to carry the risk of a correction.
Good weekend & good luck all
Pig
Thought i'd have a look in here after a few day's of being away.
Same old thing; some prick posting crud & people answering it.
Board used to be a place to come to get good info & comment, not any more
Had enough, so will leave you all to it. Might try again in a few weeks
Pig
Throne,
my plan is to sell into any rise up to XD. So long as i get over the £16 mark. That's a 17% tax free return for me; not turning that down!
Think the drop may be more than the 48p.
Pig
It makes what is usually a good board hardly worth visiting. Some very good posters on here but time and again the quality of comments is reduced by engageing with these people at their inane level.
Just my take on it
Piggy
Still waiting for my 60.34 price for another £3k to add to what i bought on the last drop.....
61.14 as i type
Later today i recon
Pig
Parsnip,
it's just the frustration really. If i get another £3k that will drop my average for all of my Cine holding to 70p.
Or i sell @ 65p & lock in £420.
Or, it drops to 55p & everyone blows a raspberry at me after rolling round on the floor in laughter.
FrustratedPig
I got in the other week @ 60.34p. £3k
If the SP drops again tomorrow to that level i intend doing same; another £3k
SP seems to be trading a range 60p to 64p. Have worked out if the trend continues & get the chance to sell @ 65p, i will pocket £420 after costs within my ISA.
My portfolio would still hold the 35%+ that i have had for ages, which i will hanging onto. (at least until the £1 mark)
But am just totally frustrated!
Of course you can all scoff n s****** when the SP continues down into the 50's & The Pig loses his money.....
Piggy
Thanks LPD,
Ortex is £39/month with a Free 7 day trial.
Anybody fancy splashing out so we can all see the shorts under 0.5%??
Pig
I feel Capita are suffering also from shorters. Only one over the 0.5% mark, but could be more below that.
Like here, a decent update & RNS and they will be closing.....
Off subject, sorry
