"AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc (NYSE:AMC) recorded its third-highest attended weekend since movie theaters reopened in the summer of 2020. More than 4 million tickets were sold globally at AMC locations Thursday through Sunday, with AMC citing the success of the Warner Bros. release of the latest Batman movie. The attendance outpaced the year-over-year attendance for the same weekend in 2019 and 2020."
Very short, but interesting to read (sorry if posted earlier)

Here's an article on AMC & in particular their acceptance of Crypto currency. CEO say's it amounts to 15% of online bookings
https://uk.investing.com/news/cryptocurrency-news/amc-chief-says-there-has-been-immediate-benefit-to-businesss-from-enabling-crypto-payments-2600403
Will be curious to hear what Cine are doing to accept Crypto payments in results on 17th.

Oh dear, oh dear Reardon, blatant ramp for another stock
No use to me....Filtered

Can only speak for myself on this Alex. I bought into Cine as a pure recovery play. Medium to long term. Never for the possible resumption of any dividend, tho it would be nice. Years away IMO.
Cine & Cpi are part of, hopefully, my balanced portfolio. They are, naturally, at the risky end of it.
Lgen are the opposite in that i consider them solid, well reasonably.
Coinbase & Meta am accumilating for a 12/24 month holding.
Am currently doing my research on IMB & trying to understand why the huge recent drop in SP. Don't want to end up in a 'divi trap' there....
Pig
@Bonkers,
of course folks may reduce some of their holding as the SP rises to reduce their 'eggs in one basket' risk.
I've got an interesting 10 days as i have CPI reporting Thursday. Averaged down there also & have more than i'm happy with. Average there is 34p. But it's another 'turnaround' stock & am sure i'll get my 34p this year. Then it's £605 a penny rise. Then tomorrow LGEN report, but they are fairly solid by comparrison; am hoping for 13.5p divi announcement there. Bought recently @250, 240 & 230.
All ethical investments, of course
Piggy
@Alexp01, I think a few folks will sell out when they get to breaking even. But, in my opinion, that may well be a mistake.
I think the hard times are behind us now & circ30p, hopefully, will be seen to be the bottom.
If it's capable of going from here to your 65p, then why wouldn't it carry on. But, yes, will be tempting for some to cash out.
Looking elsewhere i'm looking to fill up my ISA with some cheap dividend stocks during this downturn, with a view to holding for a year or two. IMB look tempting with a 9%+ yield. Tho still watching there. Been buying LGEN for the forthcoming XD divi. Bought ITV other day @ 75p after drop.
Then am accumilating Meta(Facebook) & Coinbase in US.
Piggy
.....at Cinemark & AMC have done nothing for the SP. Off yesterday 13% & 8.25% respectively. Tho i thought their results were both showing a huge turnaround in Q1 22. This could have been the general sell of in the US yesterday.
I'm long term here & very bullish for 2022/23. So, this morning, took the chance to top up @ 30.04p to bring my average down now to 61p. Yes, SP needs to double from here but i recon in late 22/early 23 i will be looking at some kind of profit.
Have averaged down so many times have lost count (from 88p), but once the court case is sorted i can see this moving up quite quickly as shorters close positions.
I wonder how many intend selling as they get to their break even price. I do remember the SP reaching 84p at one point & thought we were heading back to the £1 level, only for us to end up at 30p.
The reason i bought into Cine are still there, but i didn't pencil in Omicron, an Idiotic Judge or possible European War.
Just my thoughts as a long term holder
Also in CPI, same reasoning there
Piggy
Indeed, an interesting read
Much appreciated
Pig
Ah, back on subject; excellant.
Haven't been to the cinema in 25 years. Cine is simply a way to get to, hopefully one day, a profit.
Same with all my investments/trades. Don't do any social media or Crypto.
As a fully comitted Capitalist, the Pig here loves nothing better than to make money......ethically
LTH here, ave 67p. Also suffering Capita. Buying/accumilating LGEN, ITV, META & COINBASE
Sold all my Big Oil's recently along with BHP......
Good weekend all,
CapitalistPig
I'd rather keep my money as cash than make more from a Russian, & it is Russian, company. Do not any of you watch what is happening on Sky News? Russians killing innocent people, yet your greed takes over & you can't help yourselves.
Justifying in some Putin style way that because it's listed in London, then it's fine. Greed, plain & simple.
BP & Shell and many other companies are turning their backs on Russian investments. Ikea, Apple, & others, closing shops. Nobody wants anything to do with this pariah state!
Yet, it appears, certain among us here on the Cineworld board put money before conscience.
Just put Sky News on now. Do it. Look at what the world is saying about Russia. For the record i too traded Evraz just after the Covid fall. But i'd rather die in Boris's ditch than make Blood Money now
Final word
Pig
That's what i'm doing
DOW futures down 330 points now

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Don't need shi**y comments from folks like you

Pig
Are you totally comfortable ramping a Russian company while Russian soldiers are killing women & children?
Pig
Yes TD, am hoping to fill up my ISA too
Am also 'watching' Imperial Brands; looking for sub £15 there
Pig
Anyone buying at these levels?
306p on 11 Jan
Now 245p; that's a drop of 20% in less than 2 months.
Pig
@Yolodn,
Yes, think my target will be circ£15.50; start accumilating from there. Off 34 or 2% today. Exposure to Russia/Ukraine need looking into.
Lgen. Bought first tranche @ 259 on yesterday's 8am drop. Looking to increase on run up to XD, then perhaps 'divi dodge again'.; 6 weeks till then. Lgen exposure to Russia is said to be very little.
Bought BHP a few months back @ circ£18.75 on a hopefull recovery in Iron Ore price. Couldn't resist selling this morning into recent rally @ £27.11; Only £23 a week or so back, so will be buying back into any retrace.
Good luck all
Piggy
@Throne.....you must be hurting a tad; guess you got into EVRE @ circ150??
Down to a quid today....high risk stuff for me that! Good luck tho, & hope fortune favours the brave.....
I like IMB & traded them well up until selling out in December. Now i see they were @ 1,746 on 23 Feb, only 4 trading day's ago. In fact the SP touched 1,613 at one point on Friday, tho has recovered slightly since. An 8% drop at that point. My view is that it may well drop sub £16 if this war goes on. Also need to factor in that the larger dividends are behind us now, so the two much smaller one's to come. Last year was buying these @ circ£15, down to my lowest @ 1,358.
It's a 'watch n wait' for me.
Also, i like Lgen & bought @ 270 the other day. Huge 14p dividend soon (XD 14 April). Dropped a little but have a Limit Order set @ 250p to buy more.
Good luck all
Pig
@beta....Yes, fantastic Q4 results announced today from Cinemark. Of course, we probably knew most of the numbers but it's good to see them delivered in these results. Some good press over the weekend can only be good for us here.
Coinsidentlly, Cine has had a stella day & risen a whopping 8%.
AMC report on Monday. Another 8% will do me just fine.
I need 67p, so quite a way to go....
Great weekend all, thoughts are with Ukraine
Pig
Think i'll pass on that dix.....
Great results but down 1.6% now
Am waiting for Lgen @ 260p.....
Pig
Yep, Serco results excellant;
Beat estimates, Revenue up 14% to £4.4bn, Trading Profit up 40% to £229, EPS up 49%, FCF up 40%, £90m share buyback announced....blah blah
....& the share price?
