As I keep saying here the really important thing about CLON at the moment is the volume of shares that are traded in the company. This shows interest in the stock from investors and it makes it liquid, delivering demand on both the buy side and the sell side. As with all liquid small cap stocks it will deliver its fair share of traders who want to make money by buying in and out relatively quickly and this will have a short-term affect on the share price. There will also be those who have bought in at previous placings who want to derisk some of the investment when the price goes up. This is also normal. Anyone expecting that the price goes up every day and panics when it goes down is deluded. There is always going to be an ebb and flow to a liquid small cap stock. But considering how many shares are traded daily on now news, imagine what is going to happen when news is released.
Volumes are low for Clontarf again today, but even on a low day for us they are higher than most other small cap oil and mining stocks. Like I said last week, the technology behind the JV with ChemX is what is driving the steady rise in the share price and it is exciting to see. The benefits of the technology are massive because it means that CLON are no longer just reliant on the success of their own assets but can make revenue from the success of other companies assets too. Remember only last week there were a load of posters urging us all to move over to RRR after their 60% rise on news. Look what has happened there since. I know where I’d rather be.
Nice spot Ocelot, I had not noticed that. Unlike others I am quite keen on the geothermal idea so that is good news as far as I am concerned.
Yes, I agree. Direct lithium extraction from brines is definitely going to be the next big thing and produce the resource in a much more efficient and environmentally friendly way. It is interesting to consider how this could synch with Angus' geothermal plans if they are still intending to go ahead with them under Richard Herbert. as it would be perfectly possible to get the hot water up for energy while at the same time filtering out the valuable minerals from the salts as you do this for additional revenue. It also has the additional benefit that the high temperature salts are the most damaging to the equipment in geothermal developments so filtering them out would both create revenue and prolong equipment life. It's an interesting idea, but it all depends if Angus are still interested in geothermal.
Unlike a lot of other AIM companies that issue news, have a massive spike in price and volume and then fall back in both, CLON is steadily delivering big trading volumes without news. Yes, there are some big sellers out there, but the story behind the Next-ChemX technology is also bringing lots of buyers to the company too and this is not just pump and dump on news, it is a slow and steady volume. As I expected new investors come into the company today, and we have nearly recovered yesterdays losses already. The overall direction of this share is clearly only one way and that is up, but there will always be red days as people take profit. CLON are in the most interesting area of one of the most in-demand materials on the planet and once the pilot plant is announced and the tech is proved to work at scale this will be one of the biggest success stories on aim in 2023.
It's slow and steady here, which is exactly what it should be with a producing company. A few years ago, Angus was like RRR, where yesterday's news release sent the share price soaring by 60% as they got permission to move into production. But when you read the RNS in detail they are only moving into very small scale production and will then have to raise a lot of capital to fund this. They are probably years and millions of pounds away from generating any serious revenue, yet Angus are looking on course to make £2 million per month every month for the next four or five years at least. This shows the difference between the two companies. One is a gamble that will show large instant returns before inevitably having the share price fall back. The other will show and steady increases on the back of real money, and when they acquire another asset it will move up to a completely new trading range. I know which I would rather be invested in and it isn't RRR.
Angus won't be bought out in my opinion. They have now achieved the holy grail for any small-cap oil company and have a production asset that is delivering regular cash flow. They can now look at acquiring a new and bigger asset and use the cashflow from SFBY to develop this via debt rather than equity. They would be mad to sell now as they have really done the hard bit. The move to a £100m + market cap company is only one sensible acquisition away now,
But the thing about CLON is it does these kind of volumes regularly even on no-news days. Once this round of sellers are cleared out then it will rise again and on news it will fly.
Bi sells into the rise, but there is still demand on the buy side. I suspect that there is a bit of profit-taking going on after the last two days of rises and we will be back to blue later today or tomorrow, but we will see. One thing that I am consistently impressed with about CLON is the volume of shares that are traded in here. On a good day is massively outperforms shares like VAST even though their market caps are significantly bigger. As long as this continues then the overall trend is always likely to be upwards.
Solid output around 9MMSCF/D is all we need to be assured of long-term success here. We are delivering that consistently at the moment. As long as gas prices do not crash dramatically, and they won't, all of the rest is just noise.
RRR may be further ahead of CLON in mining development but they value of CLON is not based on the value of the mines but the value of the Next-ChemX technology in the joint venture. If this DLE technology delivers then not only will CLON benefit from its own lithium brines but will also potentially benefit from their 50% share of the JV with ChemX that holds the exclusive rights to use of the technology across the whole of Bolivia. This means that they could give a royalty on all lithium produced by the Bolivian state. RRR are a mining company, CLON are this too but are also now a mining technology company.
Oktane, in short you'd rather gamble on higher risk, higher reward plays. That's totally understandable if that is your risk profile, but I would prefer to invest and hold in a company that is almost completely derisked now and should still be a 3 bagger by the end of the year. Good luck in your other investments.
A very positive day all round. Here's to more tomorrow.
Qotwt.....oooooOOOOOooooo
OMG, Pinocchio, are you now just banging keys randomly with your nose?
Ab76 if that is the case then this is definitely good news for us.
Mls you are right there is no way the Tunisian situation will be settled before the American assets are acquired, since the latest news implied that the US acquisitions would be done quickly. But they had money put aside from the last raising for development of the Tunisian assets, so they could repurpose that instead of raising more. It all depends on how much they put aside for Tunisia and how much the American assets cost.
Educate YOURSELF. Stop posting lies.
Once again, incorrect pinocchio, but I expect nothing less from a poster who has posted nothing but falsehoods for as long as I can remember. Would you care to describe how YOU knew for certain about the issues with the Tunisian government before the company released an announcement on it? It's yet another lie isn't it?
Also no company would be legally allowed to say anything other than if testing is successful in their quarterly report before they have carried out formal tests, however certain they may be internally of those tests being successful.
Thanks for that info ocelot. However, I would think that this is only going to be a short blip in the gas price as these Norwegian outages will be sorted out soon enough and will not have a long-term impact. After seeing your post I think that this will just be a short-term spike and should not make any difference to the long-term gas price, so i don't think that we should assume that gas prices are going up.
