Lots of poor people in India can't afford masks(especially in the rural areas). That explains these figures.
There are a sizeable minority(greater than the population of the UK!) of middle class that can afford masks and these will most likely be concentrated in the urban areas where they will be most needed.

@UG you are harping back to past news. I'm interested in forward sales not what they did while they were just finding their feet. They did a lot of things right in getting the mask tested and approved so quickly but made a monumental mistake trying to be a manufacturer themselves.

You know as well as I that there were previously problems due to them trying to make the masks themselves and this has clearly impacted their revenue reported in the previous period..

But manufacturing has now been outsourced to Volz they will no longer have problems trying to work the machine themselves going forward.

I call him mark Do-Nuffin' in jest..I could perhaps call him 'Slow-off-the-Mark'. He's just taking his sweet time to let us know what is happening. Maybe he's just been too busy and has lots of exciting things to tell us. We shall see. :)

Dr Cave must be wondering, "Why do they keep banging on about the mask? That's old news.".

He's invented it, patented it, outsourced manufacturing to Volz and signed up distributors for sales in UK, Europe and India(£17m estimated). If anyone can sell Vivek can.

Cave doesn't care about the mask anymore..he's on to the next great nano particle application. Next stop air filters, again with Volz..(why break up a winning combination. )

We know there is lots going on in the background..We just need Mark Do-Nuffin' to do something, and tell us about it before the de-rampers drive everyone crazy.

NHS reimbursed pharmacies at a price of 60p per mask for standard masks in boxes of 50.

If NHS go up a little for anti-viral and #NNN come down a little for larger bulk orders..Maybe there is a sweet spot where both sides are happy on price?

I think this was just a levelling RNS. It's backwards looking and downbeat but lets us know there is still most of the 5m quid left.

It includes none of the positive things that we know are going on in the business. No mention of the 17m estimated from India, no mention of the response at the NHS procurement event, or sales of 10-9 ,nothing on cloudveil yet not cutting them either etc..

The purpose of this RNS was to get all the old news out and so that the new CEO can claim credit for the things that are about to come IMHO.

I think it could go either way. If they genuinely have something of worth we may keep CV a bit longer to let it bloom.

The one thing I wonder with this company is that it just doesn't seem to fit very well with the new nano tech focus of the main company. So my question is if the CEO will decide a new broom sweeps clean and all, and take us back to the core business.

I don't think they should necessarily go in a fire-sale though and I'm prepared to be pleasantly surprised if they do ever win any contracts worthy of an RNS, as long as they don't engage in any more rampy bragging tweets EVER again. GLA

I recon the CEO taking his time is a sign that when he does speak it will be substantial. I wonder if he's sorting out a trade sale of cloudcuckooland to kick things off. GLA
