reply to jh77 the fall in price today has not got anything todo with ophir as a company but more todo with greece situation.ophir has just been a victim of market uncertainties the past few months. ophir's fundamentals have remained the same its just market forces working against us at the moment.i see nothing wrong with how ophir is running its business at the moment we set out as a exploration company and had a lot of luck with that front also we have now got production of oil on our portfolio now all we need is a run of luck with oil price which will come in time, plus with the greece situation at the moment thats cost us at least 20p on our share price.like i said yesterday take a look at our cash in hand over 800 million we have got, then go and check out those tiny little oil exploration / small oil producing companys with 1 million cash in hand in the bank if they are lucky and these same companys have share prices of 30p / 70p and i would know for another 40p a share where i would rather have my money and thats in ophir. if ophir were to go out of business then i am pretty much sure that a few dozen other small companys would be going bust before us.oil will rise it will just take time you show me a commodity that has stayed low forever and i wii show you a liar.

looking at all the oil stocks at the moment i would say we are one of the better ones to invest in, simply because of our cash in hand, and our current and future assets.if you look at our tanzania gas field, we are the major holder in that along with bg which is soon to become shell, i am a great believer in life that if you mix with a better class of people then their sucess will rub off on you, hence our tie up with shell will give us their full expertise in lng gas.i also think that considering we got 1.2billion for a relatively small percentage of the tanzania field in the worst case scenario if we ever become short of cash we could sell another chunk of that tanzania field out and i would think shell would bite our hand off for it. add on all this our other current assets then you would like to think we are building up a nice portfolio.if you listen to our ceo nick cooper when he talks of all our projects he is always keen to bring in different partners which is a brilliant way of doing business as it cuts costs which is what we always need to be looking to do as it very expensive looking for gas / oil and even more expensive bringing it to production.so it goes with out saying the more people we have on board the better and we are lucky in that ophir are smart as they only farm out small percentages not like some companys which have to sell their soles to keep afloat.the current revenue we are getting from our salamander oil field will help also, we got that company on the cheap and our oil production costs there are good.the only other oil company out there at the moment i like is genel they were a very good investment a few months back when they were 4.60 if they get some cash payments forthcoming from the kurdistan government their share price will sail up.what makes ophir interesting is we have gas and oil so its nice to be well covered in two fields but like any share investment only invest what you are prepared to lose and also do your own homework on the company you are investing in.

i was very impressed by the latest interview with nick cooper at the 2015 african oil meeting, check it out on youtube.people should be in no doubt ophir are in good hands under nick.everything he says is positive for us investors of ophir and it nice to know we will have shell as partners in tanzania plus exon are close by to on that project.the cream on the cake is not only have we got the oil we also have a massive ammount of gas which is exactly why shell are buying out bg for its gas.This 115p share price will look the biggest bargain of all time in 5 years.all we have got to do is batten down the hatches and ride this current oil storm out and then we can watch this start to rise.It would not bother me in the slightest if this share sits at 115p for the next year because eventually it will come good, and our polish ex shareholder will regret the day he sold his massive holding in ophir. have a good weekend fellow ophir investors.

Its interesting hearing talk of a takeover, i am surprised with all our assets and current market cap we have not had one of the big companys come sniffing. If we got around 1.2 billion for 20% of out tanzania field then when you think about it our whole asset profile would be worth a good few billion.i am hoping the big companys do not come knocking because this share will be worth a lot more to us in the longer term if we do not sell out.made me laugh when ophir energy got compared to afren the two companys could not be further apart, we are a well run company and i think nick cooper has got the share holders interest at heart. It just shows what i was saying the other day on here that when market conditions sort themselves out this share will rocket.santander shares are so undervalued.santander are gaining stacks of new customers hand over fist all around the world you wont find a better current account. Also they are one of only a few banks that have not been caught up in the banking scandels.all in all i would be surprised if this was not a 8 pound share within 2 years in my opinion

Santander is one of the best run banks in the world.the only thing holding this share price back is the greece situation.as soon as thats sorts itself this share should rocket.

Anyone buying into oil stocks at the moment must realise we are buying into a depressed market. Shares run on momentum and and much as we would all like to buy in at the bottom then see it rise up one way is pure fantasy.all we can hope for at best is we get in at a price close to the bottom and hope that it will not full to much further until oil markets pick up.what we have got to remember is oil has only been tanking low for just over half a year now so we could have at least another 2 yeara of low oil prices till we see a rise.so anyone on here trying to make massive bucks in a month better vacate the kitchen because things may get hotter before the share rise significally.for those of us who are prepared to be patient we will be rewarded because at only 115 p a share this is a cracking price just to buy some and forget about them for 3 years.what you must also realise is that if oil was booming this share would be 6/7 pound. It was only a couple of years ago that if a new company only announced it was exploring for oil then its share price would be 6 pound. We have oil and gas so we have good assets all we needs is to be patient till the markets right itself and soons it does this share will rise.i can not understand how people buy oil stocks in todays climate of low prices then moan when they drop more.its a risk you take with oil stocks if you buy in todays market. A watched share never rises so all the people who are glued to their computers all day and keep posting on here and moaning because this drops a couple of pence should take a step back and smell the coffee. You can not day trade oil under todays markets this is a long term hold and if you are prepared to wait profits could be huge.this company is no afren.this is a well run company with top assets our buying of salamander was a very shrewd purchase we got that company on the cheap and the money we get from oil production will keep us ticking over till we come into production ourselfs and hopefully by then oil prices will be higher which will mean more profit on our oil.at todays low prices we are lucky our oil is still in the ground as its pointless selling it at 64 dollars a barrel when hopefully we could be at the 100 mark in a couple of years when we are on line.keep the faith everyone

This share price will have everything including the kitchen sink thrown at it. Its just the way oil stocks are at the moment. This is a share to buy and forget about as its no use getting stressed over a few pence drop.i will not be selling as i honestly beleave with the assets we have got this will be a big winner in 5 years. Everyone knows tullow oil story they got as high as 16 pound at peak and with the right market conditions this has same potential. Sometimes in life you have got to take the punches even if its to your wallet.like i say if this share was sitting at 2 pound now i still would not sell because i beleave its worth a lot mire.so i will not be sweating at todays price as unless you want to sell then just sit tight and be patient

i think the lows we saw today were the bottom this should start rising now. last time this share was sitting around this price oil was 48 dollars per barrel, its now average 63 dollars, i think the reason for current drop last few days is nothing to do with oil situation but everything to do with greece problem.i don't see the greece situation as a problem i see it as a great buying opportunity for shrewd people. as for the people who say we are flooded in over supply of oil at the moment i would say thats rubbish as stockpiles soon diminish once demand picks up, then the price of oil will rise.add that to the cut backs in exploration for oil and in 5 years time we will see oil at a all time high.no commodity stays low for ever and they do not call oil the black gold for nothing.we will look back in 5 years and wonder why everyone was running away from investing in oil.it was the same with house builder shares in the last recession no one would touch them with a bargepole, taylor wimpy 2p now 190, barrets 60p now 660, telford homes 5p now 450 etc etc

i just topped up at 117 this price has got to be a bargain. in a couple years when production is up and running and oil prices start to rise then this surely is going to be a minimum £5 share. anyone else got any thoughts on this???
