You should try holding a share for a long period of time through good times and bad, trying to day trade and short time frame trading just racks up dealing costs and requires a lot of luck to buy in and out at the right time, when it does not happen everyone moans and runs the company down. i own all the 3 listed water companies and i will just reinvest the divi and hold them for years that way if the share price drops then you get better value with your divi when you reinvest.

After recent drop in share price i though i would pop into town and see what the foot fall was like. I can report back that the queue was 10 long compared to hardly and one shopping in any of the other near by well named shops. Plus there were at least another 15 people browsing the various items in store.People in the card factory were purchasing birthday items like them fancy balloons / small birthday gifts and cards. There is also a new trend developing in this country called baby showers where they celebrate a childs birth and lots of the people were buying items related to this event. Its amazing how many events people celebrate these days, weddings/ births / christenings / birthdays / valentines / school leaving proms / easter / xmas etc. These events will mean there is year round demand for the goods card factory sells. I them compared back home and bought another good tranch of shares at the current price :-)

there has been some right deramping rubbish posted on here the last 2 days. i am sure half the folk talking this down are hoping that it falls more just so they can afford to buy in.

Lets the share find its bottom and it will rise off of that, be very surprised to see 30 pound as this is a quality run company which actually makes 100's of millions profit. its trading at p/e 8 now so i will be buying more if this hits mid 30's. always buy in tranches that way its a win win

it will be interesting if this does go to 36 mark if the share buy backs will happen again. one big positive here is there is not a large amount of shares in issue

that near 14 million was a end of day uncrossing trade by the look of it

you are always on different bb's deramping various companies, you say there are better retailers out there can you then name me one that makes 100,s of millions of profits and pays special divdends plus share buy back at regular intervals???

what planet are you living on?? how can you say that about a company that is making hundreds of millions of profit??

sure this may drop further but i always buy in two tranches so if it does go below 40 then i will buy some more so bring it on

bought in at 42pound what a nice late xmas present bargain. 320 odd million surpless cash they cant be doing that bad. how can a company go from 83quid down to current levels on a tiny fraction of less sales.

If the trading statement is down beat, it does not mean for sure share price will crash down further, it may go up. i have invested in companies that have issued excellent trading statements and you lick your lips expecting a big share price rise and when the market opens the share price tanks. you can never second guess the market.

Just got my xmas cards today in the card factory and the shop was packed and they had 3 women on the tills takeing money as fast as anything. Not sure here why the share price is down but any company that has just handed such a massive special divi back through surplus must be doing something right. Not to worried about day today share price movement as i just reinvest my divi so it will be nice if its still 243 when i reinvest within next few days.

yep ive worked my divi out i will be getting just under 8% so stick that in your pipe and smoke it, name me a bank where i could get near 8% return on my money and if the mm's can have the backbone to hold around these levels then i will reinvest it as these sort of levels so when it goes back up i will get a double rise hopefully

Unless you have noticed the world is run on massive debt, america how many trillions in debt?? uk?? eu?? the man who has just took out one of those 95% mortgage?? business's these days seem to run on it, i am not saying that its right i am just saying its a fact, i read somewhere the other day that bt has a massive pension deficit so whats your thoughts on that pokerchips??

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but just have some consideration for someone (probably a genuine pi) who may have purchased this share at say £4 and by you coming on here and telling people this could hit 97p. Yes high divi can mean issue's but i can remember when shell shares dipped under £13 with a 10% divi and people were saying they were in all sorts of trouble,now shell have been as high as £22.50 since and anyone who took the £13 would be sitting on a near £10 share price rise with a 10% divi!! I am not sure the negative sentiment can get any worse than it was when the hacking scandal happened so its only forward positive thinking as far as i am concerned. Everyone is free to make their own decisions on who and what they want to invest in. As for the fundamental page not being showed i think you will find LSE must be having issue's as a lot of the fundamental pages on different companies are down at the moment. So go and chill out antonyfree if you are not invested in talk shares then you have nothing to be concerned about have you??
