You are right in saying that the EU never wanted to give us a reasonable deal. The demographics have changed. This country ceased to be a nation of shop keepers as consumerism flourished on the back of the internet age. Our manufacturing industry was killed off by the trade unions in the 70"s and what was left of our industry hollowed out by Japan, Korea and now China and India. Services is about all we have left, together with agriculture, fisheries and education. Even our warships will now be built abroad and our telephone system upgraded by the Chinese. Lowering CT will attract tax revenue thats currently going to Ireland or Luxembourg.
