Mgmnt have assured us (and the market) 1000% of their confidence in closure with Grosvenor. We have given them alts to which they said no need. To us, should Grosvenor not to deliver now is simply inconceivable. If it does fall apart thats why we believe the BoD are toast.
I don't believe that Giles Clarke has the clout or the respect that he once enjoyed in the City. The performance of AMER and his other business interests says it all. I would not be surprised to see the share price rise if he were to be kicked out. John Wardle, for whom I once had a lot of respect, has not covered himself in glory either. JW once under promised and over delivered. In recent years to opposite has been true, I am sorry to say, especially when we look at OBA throughput and overall production.
My shares are held in a nominee accounts with ii. I always get notified automatically about voting and I have always used my votes for Amerisur. I have attended many AGMs. Voting online is easy-peasy. I will be voting against this very poor offer and will be emailing moneylender with my details.
Howzat! Clarke waits on Ā£200m Amerisur price rise
by Jamie Nimmo
THE England cricket teamās World Cup success will no doubt have cheered Giles Clarke, the chairman of AIM-listed Colombian oil firm Amerisur Resources.
As the former chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board, Clarke will have savoured the dramatic victory at Lordās ā most probably with a glass of something expensive (he is something of a wine connoisseur, having built up Majestic Wine). But there are no champagne corks popping yet at Amerisur, which last week put itself up for sale after a year that has seen its share price dive. It has already rejected a Ā£200million approach from French firm Maurel & Prom and claims to have had āa number of conversationsā since hoisting the for sale sign.
Rumoured bidders include US firm Occidental Petroleum, which is already Amerisurās partner on several exploration licences. But City sources tell me that at least two private equity firms have expressed an interest.
No word yet on whether that includes Carlyle, the private equity outfit which has teamed up with ex-BP boss Tony Hayward to hunt for assets in Colombia.
In fairness, I think the question was more like "Why are all the institutions selling?" or at least that the implication. In that context, it was a reasonable response by GC. That was how I remember it anyway.

AMER had one well pencilled in for Q2. GTE say at least two this year. OBA would fit in nicely for export.

OK, many thanks.
