If this comes off and with all the other defence projects I think civil aero will drop to 2nd place in terms of T/O making it primary a defence company.
To compare:
BAE has a market cap way above T/O and there is nothing special about its profit margins.
RR’s market cap is well below its T/O so once it gets a handle on debt watch this space.
Wow I was out by quite a bit didn't realise they had two engines however it does make perfect sense on account of them being wing mounted, I am off into the corner of the with the hat.
Hi Daz, not a news article as such. Link below to details on the Rolls 1107C engine which is installed on the V-22 and this engine costs $2.2m. The Rolls 1107F is going to be installed on the V-280 and is much more powerful, advanced and efficient so with inflation and all that I am guessing a £3m price tag.

Share buy back needs to be kicked into the long grass for a couple of years.
Reducing debt thus increasing company valuation will be much more effective at increasing share price than reducing the shares in circulation ever will. Buck for buck that is. IMHO.
Also a more profitable and higher valuation will allow the company to hold a % of serviceable debt without negative effect.
LTH it will be worth the wait.
RR share in Air Tanker Holdings was sold in February for about £150m which will be included in H1 figures. The great thing about this deal is that the 14 A330 tankers are powered by the Trent 700.
Current military operations mean these tankers are very busy clocking up engine flying hours refuelling the RAF.
ITP Sale is just around the corner but may not make it into H1.
Pretty sure H1 will show an aero operating profit without ITP sale.
Spanish Government may approve ITP sale on 8th August at the last council of ministers before the summer break.
Article is one week old but I just read it, apologies if previously posted.

t drives many on the board crazy when talking about rinse and repeat but if I had the guts to do it every time I thought about I would be on about 50p average.
But this is it, eventually the rinse rises and you get caught out.
An agreement between Britain and Japan has been talked of for months and tacitly accepted as the way forward by Tempest’s developers, headed by BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce.
BAE has been keeping the details of a Tempest announcement under wraps but it is expected on Monday, the opening day of Farnborough, the first international airshow at the Hampshire site since 2018.
Article in Times today.
“Fighter jet deal with Japan is nearly ready for take-off”
Looks like Japan to officially join the tempest program next week.
Could be a massive engine project for RR.
CW1968 “We could send the Jehovah witnesses around as they’ll knock on anyones door…???”
I once invited them in. It was raining heavy and I felt sorry for the two little old ladies. So they can in had a cup of tea. Then when I asked about this Jehovah fella they apologised and left. They said they didn’t really now much about it because they had never got that far before.
