Carpy, how much debt do AML have outside the bond debt?

CFO is on his way out and said that. I bet Stroll was fuming.
Even if they sell 75 Valkyries, at say £2m each, that's almost cancelled out by the rise in D&A and the increase in interest payments.
Hence why you listen to the CFO and not the owner of the company.

Direct from the RNS last Wednesday:

"1 US$ notes of £1.1bn equivalent (First lien of £840m at 10.5% interest maturing in November 2025; Second lien of £259m at 15.0% split interest (8.9% cash; 6.1% PIK) with detachable warrants maturing in November 2026). These instruments carry no-call options of three years for the second lien and four years for the first lien.

So there is no chance of renegotiating the second lien notes before end of 2023 nor the first lien until the end of 2024.
That means 2022 and 2023 will be the similar interest payments on the bonds.

AML007, tell us all how much other debt AML have, aside from the bonds above?

Indeed Carpy, bang on.
During the analyst call, the CFO stated that they expect a similar level of cash burn in 2022.
So the net debt will increase again. EVEN IF D&A STAYS THE SAME.

Depreciation & Amortisation in 2021 was £212m in 2022 it rises to £315-330m
That's over £100m INCREASE on 2021.

We'll see who's correct this time next year.

AML007: why do you think the interest payments have gone up from £75m in 2020 to £171m in 2021 if the rates are fixed? ;)

Putting the sales and profit number to one side for a minute, perhaps the most concerning two numbers in the whole report are the Free Cash Flow, and Net Debt. If you want to survive in any business long term, positive free Cash Flow is a must. In the last two years Aston Martin has burned through £663 mil. including £123 mil. in 2021, in fact going back through all of Aston Martin’s publicly released results (2017-2021), there isn’t a single year in which they have delivered positive Free Cash Flow. Even more worrying, Aston Martin doesn’t anticipate this getting any better any time soon. During the analyst call, the CFO stated that they expect a similar level of cash burn in 2022. With the cash burn, it’s no surprise that Net Debt is again up. The £165 mil. increase in Net Debt to a record £892 mil. is a result of the £123 mil. Free Cash Outflow plus £77 mil. gross proceeds from new notes issued plus £15 mil from the exercise in warrants. Gross debt now sits at £1.3 bil. with the cash balance dropping from £490 mil. in 2020 to £419 mil. in 2021. This number also includes £70 mil. in new customer deposits that Aston Martin took in in 2021 bringing the total deposit balance to £340 mil.

AML's plan to renegotiate the debt ..

"Mr Market, our debt levels are increasing 22% year on year, could we have a lower interest rate please?"

"Ermmmm..... what's your cash burn?"

"We've only burned through £663 million in 2 years"

"Your Broker Panmure Gordon says it is discontinuing coverage because it doesn’t see an investment case for the company’s shares until its balance sheet strengthens?"

2021, net debt rose to £892m, from £727m in 2020.
The CFO says the cash burn will be roughly the same for 2022.
So we can conclude that debt will rise by roughly the same again for this year.

That means it would stand at £1057 million!
1% increase in interest payments is an extra £10m per year.
2% increase is an extra £20m per year....
You get the idea.

In the last two years Aston Martin has burned through £663 million.

Sometmes tings just go against you and you have to admit it.
AML was a mess from the IPO.
Then came Covid...
Then came war with Russia....

But that is nothing in comparison to high interest rates.

I can't work out if it's either:

A - The Valkyrie doesn't work and won't any time soon....
or
B- They need to slow down the deliveries of it as the Cash Balance is mostly Valkyrie deposits, to sell them all in a year would mean unwinding those deposits and having no cash left.

That and the excitement of the new emperor. Now the city has realised he has no clothes. You can tell when the analysts ask Stroll a question, he responds with nonsense and they give up. The hint was in the question, subtle because they dare not try any harder.

I get it, you all got excited and BBs are a nice way of celebrating. I too, made some cash on the way up.
But the difference between people like you and I is integrity.
Ramping on a public BB to encourage others to inflate the price is not my thing.

I can still see things objectively and talk honestly to newbs who might buy in.
People like GKerr bought near the top and you seem to be fine with that.
I know it's a dog-eat-dog world, but I like to discuss both sides of the story to enable (and encourage) balance.

I can sleep easy at night knowing I am as honest as I can be, whereas you get banned continuously and appear every weekend to gain some attention.

This world would not function if we were all the same, but a little bit of humility, respect and honesty go a long way.

I don't expect you to change, I don't really care, but the more nonsense you all post, the more I will challenge it.

SO 2 new models and only 8% increase. My point is how do they get to 6000 DBX sales by 2025, which is the aim.
How many new models do they need for that?
