DRILLING COMMENCES AT WINX-1 IN ALASKA

Winx-1 drilling commenced 15th February 15:15 (AK time) –
On schedule

Otto Energy Limited (ASX:OEL) (“Otto” or the “Company”) is pleased to advise that the Nordic Rig#3 commenced drilling of the Winx-1 exploration well on schedule at 15:15 on the 15th February 2019 (AK time). ahead at 880’. The forward plan is to deepen the hole to ~2,500ft before setting surface casing. See schedule attached for additional details.

Winx-1 is located approximately 4 miles east of the Horseshoe-1/1A well that significantly extended the highly successful Nanushuk play fairway to the south. Winx-1 will target gross best estimate prospective resource of 400 million barrels of oil (75 million barrels Otto’s 18.75% net revenue interest) across multiple stacked objectives, including the Nanushuk Formation, which is the primary target of the well.

Cautionary Statement: The estimated quantities of petroleum that may be potentially recovered by the application of a future development project relate to undiscovered accumulations. These estimates have both an associated risk of discovery and a risk of development. Further exploration,appraisal and evaluation are required to determine the existence of a significant quantity of potentially movable hydrocarbons. Regular updates will be made during drilling operations.

I suspect we will have a sense of whether we have a discovery of commercial quantities (via announcement) within approx 20 days of spud...maybe less. If it is positive, I believe it will take till about day 45 to get a better sense on the size of the find, in terms of recoverable resources.

I note that we expect to hit the first secondary target zone around day 11 (Seebee) with the primary target (Nanushuk) a few days later. Passing the primary target also includes an MDT which sounds like it may give us a quick early insight into the Nanushuk while we continue to drill ahead to the second secondary (Torok) target zone (expect to hit by approx Day 17

Been reasonable weather out at the North Slope Alaska for Winx-1 drill & by my reckoning pretty sure we are now ahead of schedule so I expect 88 Energy RNS any day this week before Friday15th to say commenced drilling already...
