has been very good to me over the years. I took a gamble and sold my Voda shares recently at 2.30 and bought ATYM which has been a pig in a poke for nearly 10 years. For the first time ever, I made the right choice, up 30p since mid January. I intended to sell when Atym if it caught up with voda and get back in for the divi, however it appears that aym hasn't finished yet. Hope to get back to Voda before June and return to a less stressful share and jog along quietly. This is not a advert for ATYM, it is just as likely to bite me in the bum again, as it has done so many times.
I am aware that Voda has a spread of 0.1 and we have a spread of 10. Hardly a fair relation when we now have an sp greater than Voda. I now Voda trades are in the millions, but I still think we are getting shafted here. Thanks for the feedback anyway. ATB
I think that a lot of us here have reached pension age waiting for this rise and it will be very tempting to start selling at these levels although not sure whether to hold on for a few more years for a profit. I think Vlad has the same dilema as many of us. There must be a drop or stabilising soon, but when is the question. In reality we are still well short of the 10p that many of us paid.
It looks like this quiet period will continue, one or two buyers controlling the price is not going to set the world alight. I am hoping that we can hold here, while Vodafone drift to the same price, then I will cross over for the divi, which is like a 10p price rise.
In the mists of time the Chinese paid 15p, which now would need 4.50 to break even, but they are in it for the long term. Ergo, those that paid 10p will need 3 to do the same, I should know, I'm one of them although I have recently added to bring target to circa 2.30, but I have waited this long I will probably not sell at that price and hope for further rises in the next few years.
These recent rises will now come to an end. With my usual financial Midas touch, this share will plummet because I have just added another 30,000 shares to my holding at 1.80. I will still have to reach 2.25 to break even. No bloody chance !!. Well done Jonjo for getting out when you did. ATB Mepobre.
