The GEO string along: Namibia ➡️JUNO ➡️Gorge9 Nov 2025 00:20
Geo Exploration Limited – Company Summary
Geo Exploration Limited was incorporated in 1994 as Global Petroleum Limited
1994 – 2024: The Hydrocarbon Phase (Namibia)
For years, the company talked up Namibia’s offshore oil potential but never drilled a well.
Major operators struggled nearby:
Shell wrote down US$400 million after calling its find non-commercial.
Chevron’s first well in the Orange Basin found no commercial hydrocarbons.
TotalEnergies scaled back expectations due to high costs and poor gas ratios.
GEO saw the handwriting on the wall.
No oil in commercial quantities, and they risked losing up to 50% of its acreage upon licence renewal.
Instead of addressing that reality, the company deflected investors’ focus — from oil to gold.
18 September 2024 – Leadership Change
On 18 September 2024, Omar Ahmad became Chief Executive Officer, reportedly through a deal he proposed to the board; details were never disclosed.
December 2024 – Rebrand
In December 2024, the company renamed itself Geo Exploration Limited, an attempt to give credibility to the new distraction.
Attention turned to a new headline project — Juno, in Western Australia.
Namibia slipped to the back.
2024 – 2025: The Juno Project
The Juno Project became GEO’s flagship, with an ~80% interest.
Big talk of 5× Havieron gold.
Despite long investor patience since 1994 waiting for a return on investment, laboratory assays which could have been fast-tracked were not.
Obviously, the management knows what they dug up, as they had used XRF assays.
Without any conclusions to Juno, GEO introduced another distraction — the Gorge Project.
October 2025 – The Gorge Project
In October 2025, GEO acquired the Gorge Project, taking 100% ownership through Gorge Gold Pty Ltd under Exploration Licence E08/3737.
Meanwhile, the Namibian licence was quietly allowed to expire in September 2025, just as the Gorge deal was being arranged.
Summary
Phase 1: Hydrocarbon exploration in Namibia — no success, licence expired.
Phase 2: Pivot to gold (Juno Project) — many promises, no delivery.
Phase 3: Move to Gorge Project — another distraction as Juno fades.
Each pivot follows a failed phase, with GEO quickly unveiling new ventures instead of addressing past results — a recurring cycle of redirection over delivery.
