Up for auction. Hopefully it will end up as a bit of excitement and not a damp squib. Initial reaction to SP is positive.
It's okay, I found the answer.
Trying to understand the implications of today's RNS. Does it imply that the Carlyle deal will go through, or does it extend the timing so that the possibility for other offers to be submitted is available?
Not really a lack of enthusiasm. World Health Organisation have been struggling, first for entry and then with access and information within the country, with China frustrating their every move.
I've no idea what the logic is either! All my recent shares that have announced positive news, have followed this pattern of descending SP. People just quote, "Buy on rumour, sell on news." but that pointless mantra does nothing to explain the rationale behind it. I could at least understand, "Buy on good rumour, sell on bad news."
Fair points Lutonnews.
Thank you.
Good to see someone sticking to more conservative estimates, in the pennies. Having read a variety of posts going £1, £2, £5 - with no real support for those opinions, though I'd like to see it, I can't bring myself to believe it. If they're basing their speculated 'rocket' rise on a Covid medicine, neither Pfizer nor Astra-Zenica's share price went stratospheric after their vaccines were rolled out, so can they justify why would this? I understand the companies are not entirely comparable with SAR, but still, 7p to £5 sounds like a dream of a lottery win.
A good, positive expectation, but I struggle to understand why (in several companies), they have brighter prospects announced and yet share price goes down. I'm not concerned, as I view it long-term, but it makes no sense to me that a company states that it is doing well and people bail out exactly at that moment????
Any insight welcome.
Is that good or bad?
No. It's been slightly higher in the past, but it'll get there.
I've held for similar experience, but different outcome. The last take over I had was Codemaster. First offer was okay-ish, I held for three days while the SP sat at the offer price. Deciding there wasn't going to be any change, except possibly down, I sold. The very next day, another offer comes in and it shots up. (Just my usual luck!) I'm holding Vec as the SP now is around the offer anyway, so nothing lost if there isn't another offer. (Unless it's possible to submit a lower offer).
Woodstock 1970 - tell her that the symbolism of the item is priceless!
"2 years ago this was 60 p"
I know... that's around the time I bought in. I'm not going to take all the blame, though a descending SP is a feature of many of my share picks.
I wonder if it will get back there?
Good question. Lots of surprises today, many big rises, so it looks like it is just a result of across the board confidence, rather than specifically this company.
I feel this! Just as I thought it couldn't possibly go any lower, I hold off for a few days just in case, to see if it levels out (having been burnt EVERY time before - on numerous shares), it holds at the lower level..... I buy in, then the very next day (minute in some circumstances), it drops to a new low. Ahhhhh. The sweet pain. Just so long as the up side comes big and swift.
Did I mistake that a dividend was due on 14th May? Nothing has gone through my account with the Halifax. If it was due to be paid, has anyone received it yet?
This share is so interesting, it's been a year since the last post.
They said that back in the 1980's when video recorders came out. They were wrong!
Upto a day later for ISAs
I'm with Halifax and divs normally go in on the same day, at between 12 and 1pm.
