The next focusIR Investor Webinar takes places on 14th May with guest speakers from Blue Whale Growth Fund, Taseko Mines, Kavango Resources and CQS Natural Resources fund. Please register here.
Let’s have everyone’s DBX order predictions before they are released. Please share number and reason for selecting.
I believe there are 2800-3000 orders to date. AML stated that there were 1800 DBX pre orders from Nov to Jan 7th. Additionally if the current wait time on a DBX is next April according to dealers and an DBX production target of 4000 p/a set by AML, that would suggest 8 months of production which takes us to around 2600. Add onto that the few weeks of production already passed and you arrive at 2800. Let me know what you guys think
Wow that's a nice piece of bedtime reading! 1800 orders by 7th Jan is excellent. Can easily seeing it being over double that by this point...
Without knocking some people on here, I’d really recommend people read ‘Technical Analysis Explained’ by Martin J Pring. I’m not an advocate of trading but it goes through all the price action fundamentals which has helped save me from buying at inopportune times on many occasions. Can find PDF’s online.
Would also recommend people sign up to Trading View if you haven’t already. Excellent free tool to look at the SP action and overlay indicators.
We have hit some resistance at the 75p level, although if we can pass this it should be a clear run to 90p. RSI looks slightly overcooked at the minute. Now the DBX reviews have been absorbed, I would expect a cool down for a day or two so it can take a deep breath before the next power move.
If Vettel is signing, the contract will already be complete. Perez should get the all clear from the doctors in the next few days so one would expect an announcement in the coming week (likely this weekend). Some of the eagle eyed viewers will have noticed Racing Point made a 119m loss this year although this is not a problem as it's part of the multi-year plan that was introduced in the buyout a couple of years ago.
Not making any predictions as it's a losers game, please form your own opinions.
Ahh, I never connected the dots Paul! Big fan of your Formula One artwork! Was particularly impressed with the Bruce McLaren statue you did a little while back. Perhaps if AML goes the way we'd all like I'd be able to commission a piece :D
I forgot to add to that at the fear of looking foolish, response is also down to friction materials too!
Yes, ultimately braking all comes down to tyres. Aside from braking response which comes down to the hydraulic system, the actual braking force is easy to modify at the design stage through a variety of different changes.
It reinforces someone’s earlier comment that top gear found that the braking systems on ‘performance’ cars were better which mostly comes down to higher tyre grip (as a result of tyre stiffness, width and compound).
Obviously the AML designers considered all of this at a concept stage so there is a reason behind the decision they have made, although the general public aren’t likely to ever know it ;)
The real boost to the SP will be when AML publish the sales figures which one would expect after the order book increases as a result of positive reviews. Would expect a price of >£1 on that day
Agree with you Lucasax, it’s an option I hope they considered. As I mentioned earlier, it would be a good optional extra to boost profit. Would definitely appeal to the average punter
Agree with everything you have said. Was quite frustrated listening to that segment. I find people hear the word ‘carbon’ and assume it’s better without knowing the fundamentals
Very pleased with the reviews thus far. In line with expectations which will hopefully maintain the momentum to break the 70p and 80p resistance. Need some business information to make any real headway.
From an engineering perspective I can understand why they didn’t use carbon brakes as it’s unlikely the discs will maintain the required temperature window unlike in the AML sports cars. Surprised it’s not an option though to increase profits...
Ahaha, Investor2210 if 26 made you a pup then I think I'd still be in the womb :'D
Good to hear your stories whiteghost, very inspiring
Personally, the biggest worry at the moment is there will be a full market reversal. Hoping the next few days will give the market and AML a chance to catch its breath before running the next leg of the race. It's potentially risky selling at the moment though with positive RNS's expected soon and some buying issues on trading platforms.
I've been lurking on these forums for a few months now but thought I'd join. Have quite a lot of connections in the F1 and motorsport industry (relevant to AML) as well as some work myself and I think everyone who holds at this level is going to have a multibagger in the next few years. Stroll is a mastermind and will have a 5-10 year plan up his sleeve. Have to also say thanks to those who stayed positive at 30p which helped me decide to hold (in for ˜10k for 2-5 years)
