A little British company has potentially struck gold with an experimental flu vaccine, sending its shares soaring by more than 57pc.
Hvivo, which is based in London and was spun out of Queen Mary University in 1988, has been developing the vaccine in partnership with a company called Seek Group.
What makes Hvivo’s vaccine different from existing ones is that it is a universal flu vaccine, which means it offers immunity and protection against any influenza virus, rather than specific strains. It does this by, among other things, tackling proteins within the virus, rather than those that sit on the outside of it.
Data from phase two trials suggest this broad-spectrum vaccine prevents people contracting influenza and reduces the severity of symptoms in those who do come down with the flu.
Hvivo plans to sell the vaccine to a large pharmaceutical company within the next few months.
Trevor Phillips, executive chairman of Hvivo, said several companies had already expressed interest.

Has someone got the link to the Telegraph article please.
IDP Went from 70p to £4.75 in a very short time.. This is the biggest Pharma news I have seen in a long while.
You don’t get bigger than Glaso and placing was last done @ £2.25 here.
When will the next results of phase 3 be released.
I think Rio went to see more from the next drill campaign otherwise they would’ve mentioned a tie up.
Lol, only having a nosey here to see what all the fuss is about :-)
Pipe it down Miller ;-)
So like I said you confirm what I said “rinse & repeat”!! Corn Mhill clients been selling into any rise and lots of pi’s buying Upto 0.90 only to be shafted by a placing @ 0.6. Ramping crew belonging to Cornhill and Charlie Wood in full swing here. Very “HELPFUL” & convenient for some this set up!! 500 boepd will not be achieved. Blame bad weather but that only lasted a week or 2. Eddie has not delivered full stop & doesn’t look likely to either & even if he does those buying in the placing will be selling into any good news and rise. This will continue.
AJames, So explain why the sp is still in the doldrums? Why are Cornhill clients selling?
Did anyone posting here get in to the recent placing or even th last one sub 0.3 last year? I know there is a certain investor here and some cornhill clients that have profited bigtime here. Think about why the so never moved on good news after good news. There is one or two pumpers on here who pump the stock here and sell into the rise knowing full well what’s coming next is the placing. The next round is rinse & repeat. Charlie Wood and his cronies are profiting big time and pis are paying for it.
At present especially with this ndustry trying to reduce and elimate its use completely. To be in talks with Toyota at this stage is quite an achievement so far. You don’t get through the doors at these super majors unless you have something half decent ;-)))
Load up time!! RNS looks quality!! In talks with Toyota and others ;-)))))
This is beefing up to be something major. Massive potential on the horizon. Management are making the most of the data Newmont have given them. Rio Tinto & Newcrest next door. Which one will make the first move
Yes 4 holes to go & that’s the game changer!!! And lots more. Notice how GGP keep mentioning the similarities with the 27M Telfer gold mine ;-))))
For sure there fire in them rocks and the big boys will come sooner rather than later for sure ;-)))
e Black Hills licence covers 25 square kilometres in the Paterson Region of Western Australia and lies adjacent to the Company's Havieron licence. Previous work by companies including Newcrest Mining Limited has outlined several zones of gold mineralisation in rocks equivalent to those of the large Telfer gold deposit (27m oz) which lies 30km to the west. Management believes that the gold mineralisation identified to date on the Black Hills licence may extend into the north western portion of Greatland's Havieron licence. If Black hills extends to the Haveiron the could we have a multi million gold deposit
