What set that expectation?

I guess there are many ways to view this especially as we have very few facts, but if a bidder was to buy in the market and obviously push the share price up in the process, I'm not sure that is to their advantage. if you're looking to buy the company for £1.20 a share and you push the price to £1.00 a share collecting an additional couple of million share I think in reality you've just significantly increased the price you have to pay overall, as shareholders would want £1.50+ if we were sitting at £1.00. if you wanted 100% of a company you don't just keep buying shares on the open market.

Think it would be naive to expect that the share price is gonna just be on a upward trend. The MMs will take advantage of any situation and manufacture situations to throw the game in their favour... a week of no news and a tree shake is enough to get some to part with their shares. We have till the end of the week until the timeframe for anyone over 1% to declare (10 business days from announcement). so we may see some chunky transfers and further notifications over next few days. In reality this is just the start of the process, bear in mind that the company has stated it will only release info to organisations who have declared an interest and who it considers to be credible after undertaking it's own procedures. This will all take time, there are multiple interested parties, we will be vetting them first and then there will be an exchange of info and potentially follow-on negotiations, if you think that happens in a week you're deluded. I believe patience will pay off here.

A quick look back and it seems that in the past 3 years or so proactis has spent around £140m on acquisitions. Add to this the value of the core business and I think £200m isn't an unreasonable valuation. I don't think the reason for the offers is so much that those making the offers think they'll get it cheap, more that they think they might get it at a good price. What would a company looking to acquire proactis have had to pay last year when the share price was touching £2? Minimum of £300m perhaps? Well now they could probably get an offer of £150m accepted. The price has to be related to the actual value of the company, not to short term dip in share price.

Does anybody know what the heck the artemis RNS is about? Why they posting for last year? Thought there were rules around when you had to post after crossing a threshold? The number of shares in issue on the form is consistent with last year, so not just a date error, unless they have used an old form as a template and forgot to update those details? Who knows, bit odd.

Agree with you trying, this is worth £1 a share without takeover. Still way undervalued, no danger it's dropping significantly, the mms will play but expect this to be the base.

In answer to you question of who lombard sold to, could be CIP Merchant Capital Ltd. They reported 2.5m shares this morning. Although I can't see that RNs on this site.

They've drawn back the curtain. We get to see the real state of play. Baillie Gifford have been floating under the radar with 1.5% who else has been staying under the radar.

Funny peeps trying to put a negative spin on this... If there is any chance of getting in quick and buying at the 40ish point then there is free money to be had, simple. We all know this company is worth much more than this.

A lot of big trades going through, expecting a notification soon.

I too am low 30s hence my optimistic view on the current situation. But it appreciate other may not be in the same position.

Guess your perspective depends on when you got in.

Lots of buys and a few chunky sells, the momentum and pressure seem to be upwards however. Something is going on, now up 40% on our low.

Hopefully this is the beginning of a thought out strategy to get the share price back to where it was. If we can hit 50-60p before the next set of results and the results are positive, then I can see a return to previous levels of £1+ on the horizon.

So have Lombard started off loading to the entity they have been accruing on behalf of? Seems on they were buying on Friday and selling a chunk on Monday, especially when the price they sold at on the Monday wouldn't have been profitable.
