@Herve - good bolt-on comments re: basket for mining and Cay Co. (is that much ?? :-) ) Definitely signals the need to keep an eye on this.
I track the major shareholders. Interesting you comment on First Investments Holding Ltd. First mention I saw was RNS 27-Feb-19 where they increased shareholding from 9.57% to 10.75%, only there is no prior notification of the 9.57%. The listing prospectus however has Bank Heritage SA at 9.57% (post-listing) which looks like too much of a co-incidence (size and exactness). Any ideas if/how these two holdings might have been connected ??
Pity the article didn't follow it's own recommendation to investors and stump up a bit more intel.
"our recommendation is that investors get educated and consider how and whether to get exposure to this bourgeoning asset class in their portfolio."
You should look further than this article for inspiration before taking the leap. And if you do leap, GL.
Hey @HerveTheNerve - many thanks for the link. With my ARB hat on, this doesn't appear to present issues, that I can see. ARB's activities appear to be outside the regulation's scope which is focussed on Crypto Exchange Providers and Crypto Wallet providers. ARB might benefit from this scope of regulation. It will be interesting to monitor 'bans' (and what that actually means in reality) and 'regulation'. Activity in this area is bound to pick-up, perhaps broaden scope and vary widely by jurisdiction. Hope you keep your ear to the ground and keep us Argonauts up to speed.
@HerveTheNerve. You're recruiting for your company :-) ? 650-a-day and I'm your man.
A very good post. Anecdotally, I read up on Texas. They have issued an interpretative statement how to apply current state banking legislation to crypto, as there is nothing specific. Regulators are behind the curve. And reading what's going on with retail in the US - looks like we're in a period of beg for forgiveness later ? Could be hard work ahead for regulator and great news for you further down the line - if you can get a flight :-) I very much hope you will keep Argonauts informed of shifts in regulation (UK-US-Eur-RoW - not too much) if you hear first. Regulation doesn't have to be negative - if it supports the cause of widespread acceptance and adoption - even if it tastes like medicine at first. Glad you're one of us. And thanks for posting.
CNBC news report includes NYDIG. NYDIG appeared in a TDC link posted by DSFLAT today.
Here's an extract. Source: The Daily Chain
Institutional players continue to eye Bitcoin as the flagship cryptocurrency hovers above $55,000. Over the past few months, several major industry leaders have stepped into the cryptocurrency market via Bitcoin. Now, according to Robby Gutmann, CEO of Bitcoin investment firm NYDIG, some of these firms are expected to announce some major milestones in the coming week.
Speaking at the “On the Brink” podcast Gutman, who is also the co-founder of $10 billion asset manager Stone Ridge, noted that some of the firm’s strategic partners are going to make announcements in the coming week that would drastically change the traditional financial landscape.
“I know starting more or less next week, you’re going to see an absolute drumbeat of pretty game-changing milestones from some of these firms.”
Earlier this month, the investment giant completed a $200 million growth capital funding round for business initiatives relating to Bitcoin. The funding was led by big names like Morgan Stanley, New York Life, MassMutual, Soros Fund Management, and FS Investments. Some other partners of NYDIG include fintech firms like Kasasa, Nymbys, and Moven.
While Gutmann did not clarify which of its partners would be making announcements, he hinted that the news could be related to providing greater access to Bitcoin for the wider public as well as present other related products and services.
Amongst the various crypto-related services, NYDIG offers a product for its partnering firms called ‘Corporate Treasury’, which provides a suite of treasury solutions developed to enable corporations to hold Bitcoin.
@Traderchick - that's given plenty to think about. Thank you for a quality answer. Puts you the BM list for an Xmas Brut gift box with talc if BTC hits $100k by end 2021. Because nothing says Merry Xmas like a Brut gift box :-) Catch-up again tomorrow once Fed announcement digested.
@lunq that is indeed very cynical. I would suggest it had more to do with informing folk before they borrowed - exactly how bad the likes of pay-day loan rates were. I hope you make a buck (or a bit of coin) from your investment in ARB and defo. keep away from those high APRs :-)
@lunq... interesting post... but chimneys ?? Didn't you hear, it's all batteries and wind turbines from now on :-)
will you lot that bicker at each other just take this stuff off-line... or go post on the SRES board - they'd love to read about something other than 'delays'
@Traderchick: read your 10:25. Added questions to you. Annual US inflation was 1.4% and is currently 1.7%. What level do you or do you consider the Fed, will start to 'blink'. Secondly, what leading indicators might early alert ??
@SR123 - BBs best for short bullet points I agree... but can you briefly expand on both your points as to how they ripple their way to BTC price (of course recognising these are not the only factors in play but could be seen to be the dominant ones today) ?
And thoughts about BTC stellar rise over the weekend ??
@Trelawny - I agree in general. It would make a difference to the BB posts if before hand - the poster had read all of the RNS, removed any of the cobblers that appears in some - and did a quick re-read for typos (if only to avoid clouding their post).
Most will attribute Monday's BTC slump to news out of India. I didn't read any comments to explain the stellar rise that happened over the weekend. Any thoughts on that from anyone ?
The Fed speech today - could be impactful on BTC price (if not already having a pre-emptive impact). Any thoughts as investors in a BTC mining company - what we should all be looking out for ??
I've read your posts Sir, and there are not enough good souls like you on these BBs generally. You are as good a find as ZOE itself :-)... Fingers crossed the hopes expressed here - come to fruition. I'm invested here and a believer. ATB

Hey Craigy - is that "preying hands" or "praying hands" ??
Jeez you two should get an AirBnb
And he probably has spots instead of stripes - but no matter - we're all Argo, right ?
RC - if BTC is $100k by Xmas yours from me will a Brut Xmas gift box... with talc
@Pearls - you need to turn up to the ARB Saturday Morning Kitchen ... cabbage in a casserole you say... hmm on second thoughts ?!? :-)
Berenberg initiates 'not for the faint-hearted' Bxxhxx at 'buy' 2021-03-15 10:26
Clearly Berenberg don't have much of a stomach :-)
Weekends used to worry me (a bit) when you couldn't react (buy/sell) as BTC went up/down.
Now Monday's worry me more - as I might be tempted (and could) make a short term decision and sell down some.
Even when BTC hits $100k (IMO :-) ) I'm not sure these emotions will go away...
That's why I wear Brut Aftershave - it just takes my mind off all the noise
