Hmm... Where do you think the products are that will result in "big sales" this year? They don't exist yet. The next stage is more rentals and maybe a hire company buying a few. Then, when the unit cost reduction project comes through with an improved manufacturing process for a settled series of products (development and improvement has to stop at some point and become a catalogue of fixed products), it will be time to think about mass production, possibly/probably using a contract manufacturer until, short of a raise, AFC has the funds to invest in their own manufacturing capacity.

Following on from Friday's RNS with it's description of product developments and the market for them, it's worth remembering about the S-curve of product lifecycle.

AFC Energy is a small company with new products in a nascent industry. There is a push to adopt hydrogen as a fuel but there is also the resistence of familiarity with the old and uncertainty about when to adopt the new tech and which tech to go with - matters of cost and effiiciency and reliability of the product and the longevity of the supplier. All this means we are still at the base of the S-curve but clearly, with customer-tested and -adapted products and a now very big push to move away from fossil fuels, we are about to start the rapid progression up the S-curve - a time of increasing orders and increasing income. I was never expecting a rapid adoption of the technology. I am confident it is now about to come good.

It's not uncommon and it doesn't mean success. Those that knew, know that this was planned. Sadly the market, at the moment, seems to be a whole lot of PIs, most of them gamblers and traders, hence why the SP never seems to go anywhere.

Avacta's pre|CISION™ is a branded trademark with a specific, exact way of writing it. Calling it precision just confuses.

Too early to publish trial data, and it takes quite a while for the peer-review process to complete, but that wasn't my point. Avacta have a lot of preclinical data that could go in a pharmacology journal article so that the scientific community can evaluate the work and the results. That may be in process already given how long the process takes. It would be good to hear that a paper has been submitted to a major journal for peer review or, even better, will be published soon (date known).

It's always the same with small companies doing pioneering work using their own tech. Just impossible to guesstimate how long it will take to 'cross that mountain range' as what's beyond each hill isn't known until it's been climbed. Wise investors accept that this is just the way it is. Different for large companies as their pioneering work is pushed right down the news aganda; for them, sales and some surety of future revenue streams are the important factors in the share price.

And, anyway, in which journal can scientists read the summary of the work?

News of a peer-reviewed paper from Avacta about AVA6000 or pre|CISION would be good. I've never known a drug candidate go so far so anonymously! Just the one conference poster abstract per NCE, neither of them peer-reviewed. They must have enough data to fill an article. Let the scientific community - in both academia and industry - see and evaluate the success story for themselves.

Could be recruitment of terminally ill (metastasised) low/no anthracycline-dosed STS patients for Phase 1a, as we had a case in C3 already. I'm sure the clinicians would like to see at this early stage how STS responds to high AVA6000 dosing.

Could also be recruitment now of suitable patients for Phase 1b, but those patients will surely not have had, so will be without, standard of care doxorubicin until Phase 1b starts in ?September/October. A long time from now to be without chemo?

Investors and would-be investors should ask themselves why people as obviously not invested in AFC Energy as Gitfinger and the other continual bashers are should concern themselves with perceived problems at AFC.

On reflection, I'm not sure whether it is 3x 10kW Power Towers strung together or a new more compact discrete single unit. There is afterall a fair amount of redundant space in 3x Power Towers. And a single unit is easier to locate and move around a construction site than 3 joined units.

(And, incidentally, I don't understand why just stringing Power Towers together should be 'coming soon' rather than being available already - maybe there are complex electronics, synch'ed fuel supply, etc needed for serial connections.)

There's a lot of things I don't understand. Another one is why 12 x 2.5kW S series air cooled fuel cell generator module "delivers 400% power versus the original [4 x 2.5kW modules] H-Power Tower". 300% power or 200% more I understand, but 400%? Must surely be increased efficiency in putting all together in a single unit?
