Well the brand name could be anything as brand names have no relation to the underlying chemical structure or class. What you suggest are more like the generic name that AVA6000 might have. Generic names have the same ending for drugs in the same structural and activity class: -ezepam, -olol, -azole, etc and of course -rubicin - and, you know, first things first.

The pre|CISION prodrugs have the prodrug feature as well as the drug class, so my suggestion would be predoxorubicin (unless already in use within the medical world).

And AVA3996, a prodrug of the -zomib class (Velcade's generic name being bortezomib), I would suggest presuperzomib!

They are neither purchases nor freebies. They are options with a vesting date 31/12/2025.

These are not shares give to the directors. They are options that "were granted under the Company's Long term Incentive Plan" and "the vesting conditions are based on the share price performance of the Company over the three year period up to 31 December 2025 relative to the performance of the FTSE AIM All Share Index during the same period."

The figures in the second table are "the total number of Options held by the directors", not shares held.

The thing about AIM is that the SP can go up when there is news but then slowly slide down when there isn't news. The wise investors who believe their research and in the company will take the opportunity during those inter-news periods to top up, and sell some when the SP spikes on news of course.

@Sheppy, if you have watched yesterday's presentation ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKoI83jSpDM ) and don't understand the implications and the opportunity (and the frank language), then there is your answer. If you haven't watched the presentation, then there also is your answer.

Finally, UK investment houses are very conservative, risk-averse and slow to move and AIM doesn't attract their attention when there ar$e-covering opportunities that are less 'risky' and in the main market.

I think you've cracked the conundrum russell. It's so simple when explained!

Sheppy, ALL biotechs need money injections until they have licensing deals, partnerships or products on the market that wiull support their business. Goes for other industries where the VALUE is in the IP (Note: retail stores do not have IP, they just have a margin on sales).

If you had done your research properly, you would have realised that Avacta have a cash runway well into 2024 and will be presenting data - good data - and starting studies to obtain more data - potentially even better data - well before the cash runs out. If you've learnt anything from your research about how biopharma works then you would know that strong IP plus good clinical data mean $multimillion or -billion deals and Avacta is at the very top end of that scale with strong IP, good clinical data (more data to come), the rest of the pre|CISION platform, the Affimers platform and partnerships already with other companies.

AFAIK, those were not promising biotechs.

When the biopsy data were first presented on Science Day, the slide clearly said that all but one biopsies had been taken from the liver, the lung being the other one. Having tumours in the liver means metastasis, unless liver cancer of course and none of the patients had liver cancer.

@Sheppy, so you've done all your own research and you concluded that this share could be a success or "could just as easily go the other way as most what appear to be promising biotechs usually do." That was your opinion at the start of September. It seems you haven't changed your mind. I'd be interested to hear how you think Avacta might fail.

From a chemistry point of view, I fail to see how this spacer works unless this is TMAC (but that's not controlled release - or is it?) but am willing to be educated here or by Avacta presenting a working example.

Yes, Moneysponge, it is indeed both a BL**DY good company and a BL**DY good opportunity but, people, beware the 'reformed' trader. The thing is, national news likes news about their own nationals. Have you noticed that? So this could be national news in the US soon-ish (shortly) which may not do much for the share price here but wonders for driving the message home to all the pharma companies with their R&D based in the US.
