Think most serious readers here understand the situation and can separate the wheat from the chaff, however there will always be those who experience FOMO or just wish to take a punt with little or no actual research.
Results from our neighbours are likely to very positively impact this share so there is room for optimism.
Just hope posters / investors quoting OIP (oil in place) realise that does not equate to the likely actual recoverables as stated by the companies.

How true, from day 1 we were looking at our neighbours who had a couple of years of activity on us, had the SOA not screwed them ( and us) in respect of tax credit payments then they might have been in a position to prove up Alkaid much earlier perhaps even 2017 especially if the tax credit scheme to incentivise exploration had continued.

PS The "grey bar" in Icewine West is the ASRC (Artic Slope Regional Corp) leases that we have negotiated exploration rights.

88E is listed in Australia, UK and USA so what ever time the ANN(RNS) was released it would not be ideal for all markets, perhaps we were lucky to get it first.
The fact that we commissioned wire logging after TD would suggest the company felt it worthwhile to pursue based on initial observations during the drill but "encouraging" does not mean "definite"
The company stated that it was still to confirm the presence of mobile hydrocarbons.
I am sure that if ever well data is released for Merlin-2 it will reveal that the highlights in the ANN(RNS) mirror the daily logs.

The "billion bboe" has been identified by independent analysts (I admit paid by 88E) but also by DOG and the USGS.
Much of the Icewine acreage sits over source rocks (HRZ for one) and although some of that oil has migrated much more remains in place, whether the oil will ever flow is subject to lots of factors eg permeability, maturation , pressure etc. so OIP is not really in question.
I do not recall any "heavenly rock permeability" quotes from 88E.
In hindsight we can fairly and reasonably query the companies strategy not to d o a full 3D analysis (either the SAE shot in 2015 or shoot our own 3D) to enable better analysis and precision in drill positioning early on rather than the "strategy" adopted which managed to get us noticed particularly on OTC for one season but ultimately has not achieved much of tangible worth it seems.

plenty of shares having a struggle in the current environment but your example if pretty frightening and as you suggest possible underlying issues that have exacerbated the drop.
tax credit repayments finally on the agenda in Alaska, DW sorted ours ~2 years ago but as far as I am aware our neighbours still due - although who gets the benefit I am unsure?
