Does it not make one sick how the BBC ALWAYS seems to promote the news of protestors and seems to try and make them look the Good Guys? We see the news today that three protestors have been released as the Appeals judge declared their sentence too harsh. BBC --what about promoting the good side of the story, about the success of a British company trying to put something back into the UK economy as well as benefiting the shareholders of those companies? Lets have a balanced view point at least.

Rodders---you are quite correct and the news flow has been no more or less than expected. SS & Co cannot spend additional unnecessary time and effort issuing needless and expensive---yes they DO cost money to issue---RNS´s when they all have more important things to do--they cannot or should not withhold price sensitive information so SS will issue an RNS when it is prudent to do so---anyone commenting otherwise is wasting their time!!

Rodders--I think one can say you are BOTH correct--Current stats show we did import more oil in 2017 but currently we are on track to export more, I think therefore honours are even. Wait until end of year. It does however, shoot down in flames my theory as I did not realise how little oil we import from Saudi---in fact our biggest importer is from Norway--and Nigeria beats Saudi by far!!---It would still be good from our point of view as investors, if The Weald could make a significant contribution to either home needs or export--either way it would not only be good for us but the UK economy!!

Scandic--Please do not be utterly stupid, HOW can that be a ramp. I like many others on here are entitled to an opinion and also like many others I look at things from both sides so certainly am NOT either a ramper or de-ramper.
It IS quite feasable that seemingly small diplomatic rows can escalate beyond all reason---like the murder of the Austrian Prince in world war one??

In the light of the Khashoggi affair likely to escalate into a bigger diplomatic row, one can see how important sites like The Weald could be to the UK economy and being a little more self sufficient than at present. I also wonder --a few months down the line---if the UK govt will be a little more supportive with The Weald with the distinct possibility of Saudi Oil being one of the BIGGER threats the Saudis have muted today?? WE have seen the success Quadrilla have had in the courts, so some relaxing of road transport laws to get bigger tankers/trailers being allowed to get the oil to the refinery in larger quantities??

I think generally the jury is out on opinions as whether a major will come in. It would be nice if the price was right---yes i remember that Sunday programme!!--but I am still of the opinion that there is some way to go before a major were to come in with an offer, be it takeover, farm out or merger etc. Any major still wants concrete proof this is going to not only be an oil field of a significance size but production at a profitable level will be over a long period of time. I think many of the pieces of the jigsaw are in place but the picture is not yet clear enough for anyone to make their move on The Weald. No doubt about it I am sure many of them will have their finger on the pulse and even talking to SS and co. At the moment we only have small PI´s investing here and although the message is now getting out there that oil is beginning to flow in decent numbers, as yet it is not attractive enough for corporates to come in an invest--when they start to dip their toe in the water--or oil--we may see things moving forward in a sustained manner. Just my amateur thoughts.

uncleal---- but remember UKOG only get a proportion of each load--other companies are involved, do not forget.!!

I think this is a problem we would all like UKOG to have--how to get all the oil down to the refinery. A pipeline or railway would be very costly and the tankers would be either not enough to cope or permissions would not grant the number of movements required. Lets not cross our bridges before we get there. i am sure UKOG will have factored all this in??

Just a thought---I hope you LTH in the UK are doing the sensible thing and putting your UKOG shares in ISA`s?? I intend to return to the UK asap when we sell here in Spain, and then I shall ISA up my shares. Why pay needless taxes on our gains, I will let UKOG do that to the UK Treasury from their oil revenues!!

Starbright--thanks for your endorsement of my comment!! and a good sensible assessment of how things are at present. There is another more wider story --maybe--that could evolve which could affect UKOG and The Weald.--KOSHOGI--the Saudi journalist who has gone ´missing´after visiting the Saudi Embassy in Turkey. These seemingly small diplomatic incidents sometimes gather pace and become bigger issues of International significance. IF relations become strained with the Saudis the West could see higher oil prices, restricted oil to the West--a whole range of issues. My point is that IF the Weald is as big as Schlumberger say--and I have no doubt it is--we are beginning to see the fruits of their data--then the Weald could be of greater importance to the UK economy and therefore less dependency on the Saudis for oil--a big IF but we have to be positive about this and realise that The Weald is a big pool of high quality oil that could do the UK economy very well meaning we are less dependent on others for our oil. Just a thought to throw into the melting pot--and create further intelligent debate??

ATM UKOG sp is like a flat battery---you can charge it up but it soon goes flat---time for a new battery to keep it UP. Maybe the next RNS---one always lives in hope--Always look on the Bright Side of Life1 De da De Da
