The monies spent on buybacks should be extra money spent/given on more/increased divi's for all individual share holders. There are times when one has to realise their money and possibly relocate.

Buybacks are a loss of your own personal divi reinvestment to hit a another stock on the ropes, or catch an opportunity outside the stock market completely.
