Dear Culpepper, as if the Americans will care for the welfare of the indigenous people of Greenland. The Nordic welfare model is very different to the concept of the welfare system held my Americans. There were also indigenous peoples of the US, what of them now, a mere shadow on the land.

If the Americans wanted the resources of Greenland, they could just buy into Amaroq Minerals and invest in other Greenland business or negotiate with (read 'coerce') the Danes into issuing mining and exploration licenses. However that's not all they want of Greenland, which is geo-strategically positioned as the gateway to the Arctic, the alternative routes to markets and trade once the ice-caps melt. It's also to prevent the Russians and Chines establishing military bases, sailing the Greenland maritime waters or operating companies and mining concessions there in the future. That's why the US has designs on Greenland and why Trump will seek to occupy Greenland. The Europeans will not stand up to Trump. European appeasement all over again.

The money spent on migrants is from UK’s the Overseas Development Aid (ODA) budget.

It’s the FCDO’s budget to spend on international development assistance, mainly going to African countries and the United Nations. It’s not additional money from HMT. We would be spending the money overseas, rather than giving it to rich hoteliers here in the UK. It’s poor people overseas that are missing out on those funds reallocated to the Home Office, in countries where the money could go further (the £100 a night per person per night could feed a small village for a month in Africa).

Besides, even hotels need to be built…by Builders like Taylor Wimpey (if we’re keeping the discussion relevant).

We know from the Covid days, share price and markets recover. Opportunities like this come in a blue moon. Some see risks, others see opportunities.

In terms of Volumes today, 2.1m WHS shares were sold and 5.7m shares bought (value Bought : £37.8m and Sold Value: £13.86m).

We should stop conflating the UK workplace policy (based on the 2010 Equalities Act and British common sense, culture and history) with the US term DEI (which frankly no one heard of before this US administration came into office this year).

Conflating the two isn't useful or helpful. DEI is a US concept, not a UK one (we don't have DIE, we have our own concept on fairness and inclusion).

DIE is US concept (to foster diverse environments, ensure equitable treatment, and create an inclusive culture within the US workplaces).

Something positive, however it's become a victim of US cultural wars. We don't have DEI here in the UK (at least we don't refer to it as DEI) and I'm grateful if we continue to distance ourselves from the current regressive US policies, the world has moved on (at least we in the UK have).

Some of the greatest minds in the IT sector have some form of neurodiversity or they're on the spectrum, they see the world in a different way and they think differently, hence why they come up with different models, perspectives and software solutions and applications. This sector is strong only because of it's diversity. AI itself needs a full range and compliment of samples to be successful.

The USA wouldn't be invading Iran for the women though (it will be making more widows and orphans), it would be invading on behalf of and in the interest of a genocidal state. And obviously to cut off the Chinese oil supplies. Hence the rise of oil prices.

The Proposed €500bn in German Defence and Infrastructure is already reflected in the prices or Defence Stock. This isn’t ‘new news’.

Germany will most likely invest their own money in the German Defence Industry first and EU second.

A large part of the €500bn is for Infrastructure. In fact €100bn is for adaption for Climate and environment.

The spend will likely to be over 5-10 years. Depends too on inflation rates during the period.

Some of this is optics to appease the Trump, the spend may not necessarily materialise in the timeframe if there’s suddenly peace on the Eastern front (or Trump goes).

Infrastructure spend will advance technology and production in Germany, the UK Defence industry will lose its advantage and market share.

Companies that can’t deliver right now aren’t going to magically scale up to increased demand, attract the talent (many from the Continent given Brexit) and suddenly get a bigger share of the pie.
