So Zinc sold its stake in Chrysalis? Wasn't aware we owned a stake in it? Are you saying people are getting nervous about the article?

A great day today, loads of selling doesn't help. We really need that update this Friday as it's struggling now.

Looks like the market is not pricing in the good results or the potential merger. I've been stopped out with a small profit. Was hoping it was gunna hold above 4.15. I'll keep an eye on gold and look to get back in when I feel it's the right time.

Strange how we had big drops on ACA & HOC, then silver and gold start to move back up after the drops!

Good results but gold has pulled back a fair bit. It might just creep back up this morning. At least we have good results to give the SP some support.

Deffo, I think ACA & HOC are well placed if Au/Ag keep going up. HOC should move up soon, it's been edging up since it hit 223. Could be an important 4 weeks for ACA. FY16 results on the 14th Feb & if this merger goes ahead, coupled with strong gold prices, should see up pass £5 easily enough!

A little better today Eish. I topped up on HOC. Should have done the same when this hit 420 today. Q4 production results are out tomorrow, let's hope they are good!

Just gotta keep your nerve with ZIN. Trading update next Friday, I'm hoping for a steady rise back up before then.

ACA down

Imagine if these two companies did combine and moved to the FTSE 100, it would be the biggest gold producer listed in London. Eish, I know what you mean about ACA with its ups and downs and deals that never come through. It seems like the market likes the news though as we opened up around 30 points up. If gold continues to rise over the coming weeks and ACA reports a decent 2016, then I think we will be move well above £5 easily, with or without a merger.

I saw it drop 18% at one point on the bid. The good thing is it didn't stay down for long. Looks like a good top up opportunity at the mo. Might just see a steady rise back up now until TU on the 27th.

Both companies have a similar MC. ACA has more cash than EDV, but EDV's revenues and profits have been pretty solid over the last few years. I think ACA reported a loss for FY 2015, not sure if we made a profit during 2016. It will all depend on the details of the merger if it happens. It will be interesting to know if the companies will be merged together on the FTSE or TSX. Head count will probably be reduced at the top of the company. It may also bring about a bid for the company. Barrick want to reduce their stake and if a single buyer takes 30% or more, the buyer will also need to make an offer for Acacia.

Yes I'm not sure how it will all work either. I will do some digging and see if I can find anything out.
