The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
My understanding is that they are checking the validity of the questions used as part of the trial. It sounds like its ust an observational study so I don't even think these 25 patients are necessarily even going to actually get the synairgen treatment or even placebo. Just need to be someone who was positive and hospitalised due to covid. But it is interesting that US are looking into this.
They also confirm why SNG took long to recruit on this trial.
On page 240:
SITES PARTICIPATING IN THE STUDY
Participation in phase II evaluations of this agent will be restricted to select US sites, due to
limited investigational agent/placebo supply.
I remember reading somewhere that RM said home use of a drug for mild disease is a lot to ask of a drug. It was some point after the home trial results. When I saw this I realised the synairgen team are not really committed to the home use indication. Still hopefully we transition to phase 3 of activ 2. Its just taking forever.
Yep. I don't think 2023 would be relevant to us.
Look what Brii did- and they did not have to wait till 2023; https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/brii-biosciences-announces-positive-data-from-the-phase-3-activ-2-trial-evaluating-combination-brii-196-and-brii-198-in-non-hospitalized-covid-19-patients-1030756238
Thanks Kevin! I should have explained that in my post.apologies

So Dr David Wohl (principle investigator on activ 2) is doing a q&a on thursday. Might be a good opportunity (collectively) to ask about sng and its progress so they cant just ignore it!
They seem to be obsessed with mabs and or orals. Though I guess it's good we haven't been "knocked out" of the trials yet. A mention would have been nice though.

Sorry if already posted just thought it may interest some. The principle investigator here mentions that they're getting fewer participants now. I guess we all know this anyway!
I'm not entirely sure if they are specifically offering SNG but I remember another post recently saying it was available in Nevada? Maybe this is the place.
Anyway, GLA!
Candid you are right they wouldn't just change protocol half way through! It was just a thought as couldn't make sense of why it's taking long. Although rumor has it that it's taking a while as they need to establish the protocol for p3 first. :/
Peelweight I also agree the Home trials were actually a great thing because if activ2 p2 results aren't that great they won't be able to ignore the fact that the home trials showed some improvement in those who are SOB. They can't just ignore that so they surely (and hopefully) will move to p3 with this in mind!
Remember when RM said that that they are trialling synairgen with BREATHLESS at home patients (or something along those lines). Do you guys think that this could be the reason activ 2 is slow? Perhaps after the home trial was released or maybe even before ( RM said the drug likes a fire to put out- he said this before home trials results were out) activ 2 decided to offer it to breathless at home patients to try and prove statistical significance? I don't know if this makes sense. But I do agree with Doc, other drugs have progressed alot quicker and I can't make sense why synairgen should be any slower than the others.
I know how you feel. Been in the red pretty much >95% of the time. Hopefully it is the 'block buster' of a drug that Richard Marsden once suggested it could be. Then shouldn't matter too much what sp is doing right now. I know you should never wish your life away but I do wish I could fast forward next few months LOL
but for now just got to be patient :)
False. The results were statistically significant. If most of them were to get better without the drug (or at least had a similar outcome) it would have yielded similar results to home trial. But yes there are alot of factors involved and there have been drugs that have done well in phase 2 and not so well in phase 3. I guess we just have to believe in the science! GLA!
Great news today with the RNS. Just wish it waited till after payday!
Also I'm really beginning to hate the word imminently.
Lol.
Bright
Non fictitious Doctor ;D
Do you reckon this could be a result of the rm radio nterview? And in particular the part where he mentioned trialing at home breathless patients?
Yes, if I remember quickly the drop occurred when they said phase 3 will be about on H2. Hopefully we get some good Activ2 news soon. :D
"Taken together, the CD10 results indicate that most study participants experienced resolution in COVID-19 symptoms regardless of whether they received leronlimab or placebo."
Sounds a bit like our home trial results. This is going to be the case for most people with mild symptoms I hope they don't dismiss us because of this!

I understand the frustration as we are only a month into Q2 and we know they must have all the required data by now. I can only assume they are going over it with a fine tooth comb.
So all the geezer is saying is that the home trial results might not be as good as hospital one. But good enough.
Just need a large sample size to prove statistical significance. All about that p value.
Yes, he was definitely managing expectations there because he pretty much volunteered that information. He didn't need to say it. Do we know if he has even looked at any of the HT data by the time of recording? Or even if they've looked at it by now? He still seemed positive otherwise and did stress that anything that works will still be a blessing.
