Castilla y León reported 297 new cases of COVID-19 this Tuesday, compared to 150 yesterday, due to the effect of the weekend, although they did not reach 300. In addition, deaths in hospitals increased from the three reported this Monday to the five of this day, in which also the discharges in these centers grew until 67. The active outbreaks also increased to 399, with 2,293 related infections, according to the data provided by the Ministry of Health.
Likewise, of the 297 new cases, 276 correspond to infections diagnosed the day before. Burgos accounts for the highest number of new positive cases, with 76. They are followed by León, with 65, and Valladolid, with 49. Next are Segovia (29), Salamanca (28), Ávila and Palencia (15), Soria ( 12) and Zamora (eight).
The number of total infected since the beginning of the pandemic thus stands at 229,086, of which 222,286 were detected through diagnostic tests for active infection. Valladolid, León, Burgos and Salamanca absorb most of the cases, with 50,686, 39,752, 35,058 and 31,877, respectively. They are followed by Palencia (18,962), Segovia (17,222), Zamora (13,249), Ávila (12,520) and Soria (9,760).
As for the deceased, a total of 5,706 people lost their lives in hospitals due to the virus. Thus, three more deaths were recorded in Valladolid, so the figure rises to 1,159 and one in Burgos, to a total of 703, and Zamora, to a total of 428. In the rest they remained unchanged: Ávila (339), León (1,147), Palencia (444), Salamanca (835), Segovia (366) and Soria (285).
Active outbreaks increased from 387 to 399 -12 more- with 2,293 linked cases -54 more-. Most of these active outbreaks are in Burgos (86, five more than yesterday, with 507 linked cases), Valladolid (63 and 304), Salamanca (57, three more, with 376 positives), and León (56 outbreaks, one more and 270 matched cases). Next are Segovia (53, two more with 277), Ávila (23, four more and 141 cases), Soria (23, one less and 122 cases), Palencia (20, one more, and 147 cases), Ávila ( 19 cases, two less than yesterday and 127 cases) and Zamora (18 outbreaks, three less, and 149 cases).
