Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
The fundamentals will win out here no matter what anyone on either side of the fence says on this board. We have little or no influence on the share price and are driven by the larger numbers of shareholders across the channel.
This will recover as the news flows and the pressure comes on the sp to rise.
In the meantime, I'm afraid we have to put up with a lot of drivel (or should that be dribble :-) from a few sanctimonious narcissists with hidden agendas in my opinion.
Good luck all genuine share-holders :-)
Good point eljefgrande. The good news and positivity has swamped the rats this morning.
Do us all a favour everyone and don't respond to people like Donald.
THEY LOVE IT when we think we are being clever and replying to their rubbish. They get a big SILLY GRIN all over their little faces when we take the bait.
If, however THEY ARE IGNORED, they get very unhappy.
Now come on folks, who doesn't want to make Donald unhappy? :-)
WBAFC. If you are reduced to asking a chartist what is going to happen to an AIM share over the next 3 to 6 months then you have lost all sense of judgement, reasoning and credibility in my opinion. They are no more accurate on a share like this than a fortune-teller at the fair.
Get a grip!
There seems to have been a concerted effort over the past few days (continuing this morning) to unsettle people and sow uncertainty and doubt amongst people who mat not be familiar with accounting practice, and in particular cash-flow and money at the bank.
Everything that has been suggested, and too be fair, on both sides of the rift, is speculation and guesswork. However, a little bit of common sense should be applied and some of the more outlandish claims (e.g. that a stock write-down takes money out of the bank and that staff costs will wipe tens of millions of the cash at bank figure) are complete nonsense.
If you are a genuine long-term holder, then just look at the positives (which are many) and calm down. It is my own personal belief that the fundamentals here will win through. We might take a while, but all the innovation, IP and pipeline of new products and services will take Novacyt into a bright, post-covid future.
Give the new CEO a chance and be patient.
As a final comment, a lot of attention has been focussed on Mandy, a long-standing employee and basically an administrator who does what is requested of her by her bosses. One or two people have said that they believe some of the comments made to be out of order or beyond the pale. I completely agree with that sentiment and a few people on here should be utterly ashamed of themselves. Bullying is despicable and even more so when done anonymously from a keyboard.
Good luck all and for goodness sake chill!
Urraca, I completely agree.
This is a bizarre situation at the moment and it is why I am pretty confident that at some point the cork has to pop.
I had wondered a bit about the dual listing situation with little doubt that the SP is driven by the Bourse. We appear to have little presence in that market so I wonder how they actually perceive us? Anyway, we await news in due course. GLA
It's nice to see that the last few posts have been interesting, positive and newsworthy. I've enjoyed them.
For most of today we have had bitter people moaning (not helpful folks if new investors read, doh!) and miserable people whinging about DA not making an appearance etc.
Let me see. I'm a new CEO so what is my priority? How about two hundred odd staff who must have been disconcerted about events and possibly in need of a bit of TLC and re-assurance. I also need to get to know people, who does what, where are the gaps and get up to speed with the R & D, all the events and shows and find out what is happening all over the world. If I get my head round that lot, the train will be firmly on the rails and then I can address strategy, communication et al.
I think we need to cut the guy some slack and stop bad-mouthing someone who really does not deserve it at this stage.
I agree a hello would have been nice but that's all. It's not a major problem frankly.
Anyway, I've said my piece so now the weekend beckons and I've not even thought about the wine for tonight :-)
WBAFC, a lot of what you post is misleading and that (millions being paid to a broker) is a prime example. You proport to wanting to see the share price improve but almost every post is negative and downbeat.
What don't you do yourself a favour as well as us and chill for the moment?
Completely concur Kaeran. It is becoming increasingly apparent that there has been little in the way of a handover from the old to the new CEO. My feeling is that this would only happen if, as I think most poster suspect, GM and NP had more or less been shown the door.
If you think sensibly about it, its going to be a couple of weeks at least to get round everyone, get up to speed, maybe even travel to the States (possible now after 8th Nov) and generally get his head round it all.
Like many on here though, I would have thought a quick 'hello' would have been appropriate but personally I am prepared to give DA some slack for a bit.
The volumes are tiny guys so spread and sp under these conditions are pretty meaningless figures frankly.
We await news. I'm very comfortable with the medium and long-term prognosis but I must admit that its a bit tedious at the moment :-)
That's my understanding as well CT.
The highest market sp price in the last twelve months (having to be paid)has been an urban myth on here for ages. And in any case, the speculation on here over a takeover is in my opinion, just that (speculation).
Anyway, it looks as if a sensible re-rate is starting off the back of the fundamentals so lets all hopefully enjoy a bit of a recovery.
Valju, hope the Meursault was as nice as you described. I changed my mind on the Bordeaux in the end as Lady Brent did not want to partake last night and I knew I would be weak and drink the bottle! So I switched to a half of Bolly. Yum!
Enjoy the weekend and the anticipation for Monday folks.
My personal take on this at the moment is that GM and NP have been pushed/fallen on their swords over the inventory and the DHSC dispute issues.
Not surprising perhaps given the impact it has had on the sp and the sentiment towards the company.
However, the company and it's fundamentals have not changed as they are bigger than any one or two individuals and my belief is that all the bad news and dirty laundry have now been exposed. I am hopeful of much better days ahead and I'm decanting a fine Bordeaux for later to toast the new CEO GLA
WBAFC.
“I don't have much confidence in the BOD at this moment , I looked at the chairman yesterday and what a dull fat man he is and I am thinking is this for real is he the man chairing board meetings and AGMs He looks so undynamic .”
You are without a doubt, a candidate for the saddest individual that I have encountered on this board. You are a sanctimonious, self-centred and selfish poster and you make BYP look pious (almost lol).
Have a good day and I really hope that I never need you to treat me as a GP. Mind you, I’m not sure by a long way that you are a real doctor. Your judgement over here past few weeks as regards unsolicited medical advice to people you have no knowledge of would indicate otherwise. Well someone has to stand up to these twats :-) and guess what? LSE saw fit to let my mild expletive go :-)
