Ah well, and so the sage seemingly ends. No idea what I'll do with my time spent reading the posts here!! Thankfully, I'm not as badly off as some here, having lost about £7,000 which was meant to be towards my funeral costs so I'll need to keep kicking about a wee while longer.
Many many thanks to Senseman and others whose wise words and hard work at least allows me to get some money out of this. And memories of ADUK will last forever.
Perhaps we'll meet again in another forum.
Best wishes to all.
Now, 30,000 shares first payout should give me enough for a MDF coffin lol.
Blimey. After all these years. Panic must be setting in at last! Just a few years late...might have been more helpful to have shown more support long ago rather than the farce leading to last year.
email sent at 21.20 this evening. Apologies for delay. Been too engrossed in the stories revolving around a local ex-chief executive of a political party.
Do Hurricane own a battle bus for this 'sale'?
And my 31000 left
Thanks Senseman. I never realised the sanctions were from 5 Feb. As you say, shame about the Feb offload likely price, but looks like the following offloads may offset that.
With them having directors on the Board, I suspect they will say nothing; until CA take action ...unless you're a CA shareholder/investor
Goodness. I can hardly contain my excitement. I think I will celebrate today by adding another camera to my cctv system to watch pigeons attempting to hand onto my bird feeder.
I have been collecting perishable food from a Simply Food store for 2 years. The company use neighbourly to report surplus available to charities prior to evening closure - its not a robust system and depends wholly on the staffinvolvement and buy-in at the store. The store our charity collects from has 12 food waste bins, and food is dumped daily along with packaging (so must be paying a premium due to the packaging also being binned in the wrong bins.) From my knowledge of what tonnage we have collected in the 2 years, and reading the M&S reported statistics, they are clearly under-reporting waste. My background in recycling and re-using 'waste' materials in the past 14 years helps me understand that M&S need far better systems to handle food surplus that is dated and perishable. Volumes of waste in the past 2 months have reduced, but partly as staff lack motivation to pass on surplus to charities, (it is easier and quicker to bin it) and partly as food supply chain problems lead to shortages in some product lines. Mis-reading of consumer buying cycles really needs to be tackled quickly.
I'd be surprised if CA are that bothered about Mr Maris' reputation etc. I can see the argument about commission governing arguments, and so on. I'll carry on with the diazepam for now in the patient hope that something might improve before summer.
Almost hilarious. The 2 unbuilt ferries being built in Greenock were designed to run on liquid gas and diesel. The progress has been well documented. The latest is the first ferry if it ever meets sea worthiness, will only run on diesel. I read the liquid gas was to be shipped from Canada by a, um, diesel tanker. At the rate these 2 ferries are progressing, I'd guess HURRs oil will have long been used.
Following this thread, then I read that there are 115 bids for new fields to drill oil being released by the UK Government. OK, it says the North Sea, but as Gloucester said, the tax advantages in HURR might be attractive to those bidding for new fields.
The point about market abuse regs seems very valid. If CA were a 'normal' shareholder having as much info as us mere mortals, then it surely would be a bit daft to back down from their request for a meeting. It seems pretty clear they have just enough more info to decide to hand on for now. Which is a tad unfair.
Jfallonirl - that what I was wondering. I in my naivety, thought folk won't buy in for the dividend as they may expect the share price to drop 3p...so not much benefit, or am I wrong?
agree...about time those windmills got hammered. And the battery cars road tax in 2025 forces people like me to hold onto my petrol car.
My feeling is that it might help a sale, if there is a company out there able to utilise the tax benefits associated with HUR; perhaps aided by the poo over the next months. On the other hand, if HUR don't plan any expenditure on exploration etc, then the added tax burden will become a burden of sorts on the profit level and the tax on dividends might affect some large PIs here. As I've my miserbale holding in an ISA, then I guess I'm safe, unless wee Krankie racks up the tax in Scotland even more to help pay for the oil guzzling ferries expected to launch sometime next century.
The news reports this morning seemed to indicate that some of the regulations around flaring might be relaxed to facilitate speedy development of oil fields
email sent to all those listed today
Thanks for the info on ADoubleUK. I found his posts amusing, informative and balanced; and well worth reading. As others, I miss his take on the Hurr share.
Perhaps I am wrong, but didn't the recent RNS suggest the next oil uplift from AM is going to be nearer October given the period of servicing in September? So that we will have the joy of a new PM by then, Autumn and Winter here setting in, drought conditions in/on the Rhine curtailing barges (so maybe they will need diesel for their trucks) and perhaps our beloved Scottish Ferries will be running and need fuel etc .... blimey. Things might settle a little by the end of the year.
Posted my letter off so would have arrived yesterday. Me being old school, if his inbox is anything like mine, with thousands of unread emails ! Nobody writes me letters any more (other than bills), so receiving one tends to get read!
