It’s Jason, Mark’s brother here. Sadly, Mark passed away peacefully overnight. He was a truly remarkable man, and leaves behind his girlfriend Emily and baby daughter Eva who is 5 months old today. The biggest tribute you can pay to my brother is to stay at home.

Today I’ve been working from home in the kitchen and my girlfriend , who should still be on mat leave has been working from home in the bedroom. We’ve shared babysitting duties. We totally ace this parenting thing.

Interesting to see markets in these circumstances...be honest...NO LOCKDOWN then markets will resume and business for all will resume...however currently there is a huge global pandemic and no end in sight...ODX and NCYT are deserving to be where they are at in the fight against Covid yet people still doubt this once in a lifetime phenomenon occurring and think other shares are in a better place to be currently...realism is until there is a cure made from antobodies of this possibly man made catastrophe of a killing virus...life is not going back to normal...that's why ODX will do the same as NCYT and other covid stocks as nothing else in life can continue otherwise

There are also a lot of people that have recovered from Covid19 and have developed antibodies...a large part of asia testing was inaccurate so people told they had coronavirus when they didn't...also the main crux is antibodies are needed for vaccine development...and to allow people to return to frontline work roles,they need to show they have had the virus and therefore not at risk before any kind of lockdown is removed and life can get back to some kind of normality...no ouch on my view

Omega Diagnostics has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with three other UK companies to jointly develop and manufacture a coronavirus (Covid-19) point of care antibody test.

The move is in conjunction with the University of Oxford to form the UK Rapid Test Consortium (UK-RTC) to manufacture the test as part of the government’s five pillar national testing strategy for Covid-19.

Omega, Abingdon Health, BBI Solutions, CIGA Healthcare, and the University of Oxford are part of the consortium which was formed at the request of the UK government to assist the development and manufacturing scale-up of a lateral flow antibody test for Covid-19.

This Covid-19 Rapid Test will analyse if patients have developed immunity after contracting the virus.

Under the MoU, which is for an initial period of six months, the companies will use their combined lateral flow test design and manufacturing expertise to boost the design for potential accelerated scale-up to manufacturing of the test.

Omega CEO Colin King said: “We are delighted to be part of this consortium and to support the Scottish and UK Governments’ efforts to combat the Coronavirus pandemic and look forward to using Omega’s manufacturing knowledge and capabilities in supporting and furthering this objective.”

The specification and standard operating procedures will be shared with each company in the consortium once the Covid-19 test reaches design freeze.

This would enable manufacturing and assembly to be undertaken at each site, including at the manufacturing facility of Omega located in Alva, Scotland.

The UK government has set a new challenge for the industry to increase testing to 100,000 a day across the country.

This plan aspires to increase swab testing in PHE labs and NHS hospitals for those with a medical need and the most critical workers to 25,000 a day in England by mid to late April.

That's the game changer in my opinion...finding people with antibodies who have had the virus.. various covid tests out there already but none effective on who has had it and not hot it..next week should be clearer picture...mologic is an added bonus but the point of care test is the big one

As per RNS 20th April Omega (AIM: ODX), the medical diagnostics company focused on CD4, infectious diseases, food intolerance and allergy testing, announces that it has signed a Material Transfer Agreement ("MTA") with Mologic Ltd ("Mologic") to formalise a partnership to provide manufacturing capability for Mologic's COVID-19 first generation ELISA1 diagnostics test, the development of which has been funded in part by the UK government. Once ready, the antibody test will be capable of playing a key part towards identifying people that have built up immunity to coronavirus.



Omega has provided Mologic with access to one of its manufacturing facilities (which specialises in manufacturing ELISA tests), situated in Littleport, Cambridgeshire, England and both parties have collaborated to produce pilot batches and first validation batches.
