Wids in theory they are more efficient. If you turn the water temp up or radiator temp up the efficiency advantage drops hugely making them barely worthwhile. They work much better heating water up to 55 degrees c increase that to 65 and the advantage is precisely bugger all.

Utt condensing boiler is a classic example of regulatory stupidity. The condensing only works at lower temps, ppl however like hot water and hot radiators. At the temps ppl like the boiler is no more efficient than the older ones. So we have far more complicated and less reliable boilers that last less long and require more servicing for bugger all benefit.
