All well and good task but the cost of backup energy generation is greater than the value of the electricity. So the poor are paying twice, once for toffs with solar panels to produce uneconomic energy, then they are paying for idle gas generation which is hugely costly. Result our energy costs twice as much as it should.

Task the poor anywhere would benefit far more if coal was used to create much cheaper energy. The left now despises the poor, they want to make energy a luxury good because the world's ending apparently.

Disagree ppl sat on arse doing nothing isn't productive. All good virtually are imported. Ever increasing debt abd printing money is how we've masked this lack of productivity. That can only last so long.

Pat you are citing the parable of the broken window. The damage to Lloyd's, share holder, borrowers etc by paying out ppi is clearly far greater than any benefit to the wider economy from the payments. Otherwise government could create growth by arbitrarily seizing any assets.
