My point is I don't want to die .
Thats good to hear , I haven't had mine yet @ 49 and 3/4 my biggest fear is they are stupid enough to halt the vaccination program when they get down to completing 55-50 then give the vaccinations to our European friends.
Neil have you had your first vaccination yet?
I know Bill Gates was a 25% investor in some kind of mirror / sun reflexion technology with the objective of eliminate coke use for the steel industry.
I personally can't believe how many 20 somethings i meet who say " its not worth it ,its too late , we might as well have a good time while we still can"
I asked that King College London science graduate to leave after he said that to me and is now no longer a lodger.
I am encouraged by Boris's carbon catching ambitions , the North Sea has plenty of space to store captured carbon if we can do it . JCB's advances in Hydrogen technology . Presently unused night time sustainable energy could be used to separate H from H2O and last weeks Rolls Royce SAF flight testing in Germany .
Theres still hope though luckily if it does all go pear shaped i am of an age where i won't be here to witness most of the Armageddon.
I stick my head into Sainsburys from time to time to check out the competition and so I can gloat as to how much more superior a M&S stores are both in appearance ,ambience, value ,taste and packaging .
In a funny way Bitcoins are mentioned in The Book of Revelations . Tesla are by natural anti establishment thats why the CEO is so popular with young people , but its worth noting that he can easily afford to lose $1.5B where as your hippy friend prob can't .
Dutch tulips in the making IMO.
ps In todays news Sainsburys are planning to match Aldi on 250 products.
Try telling 30 somethings to only have one child?
Or to maybe try suggesting to them to not fly for a few years until "sustainable aviation fuel" is the norm?
Through one ear and out the other , yet they are the generation that were given environmental lessons in school and the generation we all were hoping would help save the situation .
Strong leadership is the only way , flight rationing for the next few years? Meat tax ? etc... If the Gov of the day aren't introducing policies that their voters don't like then they aren't making the difference needed to save the planet .We need to be lead cos we can't do it for ourselves cos we are all too selfish .
Is it too early to say the SP may have turned a corner this morning ?
Regarding pension issues, i fell for that last time around during the credit crunch and i now know i need not have worried myself about it cos as the FTSE returned to normal levels as did the pension deficit, meaning it was no longer a problem.
What I do know is I bought BT last time with £22B debts and a much greater pension deficit problems than it has today @ 80p and 4 years later they were £4 .Exactly the same thing will happen this time around too while pocketing a decent dividend as you wait.
This is a £400M profit per quarter utility company at the end of the day that will see profits grow over time as the G5 network and nationwide super fast broadband come online.

Wilco
Its not going to 50p or anywhere near that kind of guesstimated price.
80p is possible given these new variants are in effect a completely new virus. This time around it is being managed differently by restricting travel.
If you want to know the best time to buy follow the actual News itself in regards to the spread of P.1 around the rest of the World and what other countries are doing to try and halt the spread .

"Reading between the lines - may be contemplating a click and collect launch with M&S bricks and mortar."
I got the same impression.
With additional travel restrictions announced this lunchtime by the Gov. to combat variants P.1 and B.1 , its hard to imagine other countries not following suit.
And with new £1,750 hotels bills for returnees its even harder to imagine overseas summer holidays happening this year too.
Given that the UK have added even stricter travel restrictions this lunchtime to combats new variants P1 and B1 its hard to imagine other countries not following suit in the coming days.
And with an additional £1,750 hotel quarantine bill announced for returnees it's starting to look more and more like overseas holidays have been cancelled again this year.
Giant warehouses over a certain size should be given giant rate tax bills .
I am near Henley on Thames but we are in danger of losing a wonderful book shop due to Amazon's impact.
Agreed ,i can remember when Beaconsfield had its own milk depot in the town centre as well as Brakespears in the heart of Henley town .
Whats happening to the SP , this time 2 weeks ago we were toppy @ 1.44p and now we are bottomy @ 1.32p?
If any of the banks are going to pay a decent div this season is going to be BARC making it hard to imagine the SP range not being 1.60- 1.70 by the 18th of Feb.
Worth noting the SP has risen 5-6 days consecutively and may have a few more days to go before taking a breather .
Thats only really Barclays nowadays and they aren't robbing anyone they are asked to help.
What happened to the Openreach minority stake up for sell story, has that fizzled out or will it be returning in the spring post preliminary regulatory approval?
