since the 20th May post. If half of my investments had done half as well over the same period I would be a very happy man. Still some you win and some - BP - you dont, still making money in this rising market is easy, the trick is not to lose too much on the FTSE re-trace when it comes.

I've been passing on some - but not all - of my vouchers to friends and family for years and no-one has ever queried any name written on the back of them. They have no way of checking whether the person is a shareholder or not so we're all safe. All I can think about now is a nice 'big plump Santa' - only 9+1/2 hrs before the shops open, Yum!!!

Big rises today for SGC +18p and NEX +11p. Was it something in the chancellors speech??

Nice rise today for NEX +11p and stagecoach +20p (ish). Think a 'crash' is rather unlikely, more probably a small correction.

Hope you stayed on for the ride. A superb set of half year results, revenue up 14.5% and profit up 28%, and the interim dividend up 17% to 11.25p. This may well hit £20 yet before the year end.

Not sure you will see 300p by year end but if the full year results are good and the dividend is reinstated we should see a rise above 250p, maybe as high as 275p. Full year results are due in Dec with the final div, if paid, due in Jan/Feb '11. With a final div of 10-15p you could easily see a nice little 20% increase to your investment.

NEX today reported an increase in third quarter bus,train and coach revenues. "We are making great progress in UK bus, rail and North America, whilst delivering strong,stable returns in our other two businesses, Spain and UK coach", chief executive Dean Finch said. He reiterated plans for NEX to bring back its dividend this year.

Hello fellow NEX'er, it's been quite lonely on here most of the year. Good share, has performed well since the RI, and hopefully should take off if they re-instate the div at year end as promised.

Totally agree. Congrats to everyone who bought their full entitlement of RI shares at 335p, looks like an absolute steal, and a great div to come as well. If only all investing was this easy!!!

Mine arrived today but for some reason I received two sheets of vouchers!!!!! Is this just a cunning marketing plan to get me to buy twice as much yummy chocolate, or a genuine mistake?? Either way I'm not complaining.

This page shows what the closing price was on 15/09, as can be seen from the 'Recent Share Trades' section. This share has now migrated to its new home of HWDN where all future prices will be shown. It's currently up at 71.65p.

This is the new ticker code for all ex-holders of Galiform shares - ex MFI. With effect from 15/09/10 the Co changed its name and all old certificates have been replaced with a shiny new one. For the time being LSE are listing two codes - GFRM and HWDN - but with different prices!! How Queer!!

Back to where we were before yesterdays little blip. Did anything really happen? Or just another case of a pi55ed up dealer pressing the wrong button and now that the Krug has worn off he's unravelled his mistake!!!

The final results announced 8/9/10 were rather flat with not much good news going forward, so this little rise is somewhat unexpected. Would be nice to see the sp back above 100p, just how far can this rally go? Must make sure I use up my remaining money off vouchers before they expire end Oct.

Spot on with the maths. So we are only 6% down on the £7 equivalent sp taking into account the RI. The div will be cut to take into account the extra shares, but should still be around the 6% level, and they have stated that they intend to grow the div at around +8% a year. So if people took up their RI then their total div will be roughly the same as previous years, but will be slightly less per share because they own more. With BP currently not paying divs this is one of the best shares for people who are looking for some income as well as (hopefully) a rise in the sp.

The money off vouchers you refer to are sent out with the Final div which is paid towards the end of Nov each year. If memory serves me correctly there are about 12 vouchers, 4 each of £1 off £5, £2.50 off £10 and £5 off £20 spends. They are valid until end Oct the following year. My favourites are the Viennese Truffles and I usually end up with the odd free bag each we shop there to make the spend up to the appropriate level. There should be no reason why your brokers cannot pass these on to you. They are a nice little perk from a share that also has a decent yield. Such a pity they have been languishing at such low levels for so long.

Looks like I was correct with last nights spread. Now we are open again we are back to 0.5p spread and are exactly where we finished yesterday.

Not sure about Thorntons vouchers if you hold inside an ISA with a broker. You would need to give them a ring to check, but I don't see why you shouldn't get them. On BP we need to break 450p then hope for no more bad news on the litigation front, but looking better now all of the doom merchants seem to have stop spreading tales of sub 250 and takeovers.
