Wasn't expecting such a big fall on Tesco. Called that one wrong so have apologised to anyone over there who may have followed my comments, oops!! Should learn to only answer questions re divs etc and not offer advice!! Unfortunately called this one correctly, and think this will fall further. Am afraid i've not seen anything to alter my long term view on this one. One thing i'm not short of is strong spirits, so will pour myself a large one after making sure there is enough money in the account to pay the M-I-L's care home bill. I love this share. Having first bought at 114.5p back in Nov '97 and a lot more over the next 6 years around the £1 level - my best buy was at 61p in Sep '08 - this has to be one of the best shares in my portfolio. If only they had all been this good this would be being typed from a beach somewhere warm, and not from a semi in W London in the middle of winter. ATB.

Not sure where the bottom is going to be on this one. Let's hope it stops soon or you'll be adding this to HMV in your penny share portfolio lol!! And i wouldn't hold your breath for any more divs from this for a long time, only worth holding now for the vouchers - for as long as they last. Pretty soon the money off via the vouchers will be worth more than my entire investment - now a mere £50 before costs!! Oh well at least BT has poked its head above £2 and with Bp doing well my portfolio is currently standing at an all time high until Euro or global worries resurface, what fun!! Still very Xmassie here as the decs are still up. They only went up on Dec 23rd so won't be being taken down any time soon. Am sure you will be appalled but one year we never got around to taking the tree down at all, we left it up in the corner of the room as the cat liked sleeping underneath it. The closer we get to de-listing - this Friday 13/01 - the lower the sp will fall. No-one wants to be locked into a share that will become very difficult to trade. If in any doubt try to do a deal in Millwall shares who de-listed last month!! Be warned!! ATB.

A few days on and all is rosy again. IMHO with a yield around 6% and a monopoly on the supply chain this is one of the safest stocks to be in. Just look at the broker upgrade posted below by mulledwine. ATB.

Great idea re THT and Clintons sharing floor space, the two would work well together. Only problem is fitting THT into existing Clintons as it's already difficult to walk around without knocking something over - but i always pick up after myself!! For Easter, Xmas, Mothers day and Birthdays, we always end up with too large a bill at the till having to buy Mum, MIL, Sis, Gran, Grandma, Aunty cards, etc, etc. Difficult to know where else THT could share floor space as opposed to shelf space - M&S? Son seems happy enough with his iPad2, and daughter is already looking at holiday brochures to see where she is going with here holiday voucher. Me, i'm just looking forward to him going back to Uni, and her getting back to work so i have a chance of getting into the bathroom before lunch lol!! ATB.

As a long term sufferer IMHO you will have to wait a long time to see any return on your investment here. Believe this has further to fall before we get any good news. They plan to close 180 stores and will see their margins squeezed on any sales through supermarkets. Just don't think there is any real future for a specialist chocolate shop on the high street. Take a look at the three year share graph above, it resembles a downhill ski slope and not sure there is enough momentum to climb back up again!! Although i'm a great lover of their choc my views here are well known, although QueenElvis - another lover of their products - often has the opposite view. Only time will tell which one of us is closer to the eventual outcome. ATB.

No. This went ex-div on 30/11/11, with the div of 13.93p being paid on 18/1. Guess this is just a bad day to be a holder of NG, with the power disruption in Scotland and the NE not helping. ATB.

Happy Hogmanay to you. Wish i could reciprocate with an English alternative to 'Oh Flower of Scotland', but the liberals and the loony left have emasculated us English over the years. What with all the rules on not being allowed to show we're English - no flags or emblems - or celebrating an English day in case we offend anyone we just end up joining with you or the irish for a good day out!! Certain English councils in areas with a high ethnic population even frown on celebrating Xmas, and our daughter was refused a Xmas party at school a while back in case it offended the Muslims in her class, yet strangely they were allowed to celebrate Diwali!! It seems to be the case these days that the more freedom of speech we have the less we are actually allowed to say. We are ruled by the minority these days!! As for THT, for me anyway it has reached the point where it gets filed with the other no-hopers in my portfolio, only to be dusted off and sold when there is nothing else left!!! These days it's only worth keeping for the vouchers as the div is so small as to be worthless. ATVB.

Guess we could discuss matters here until other SGC'ers get the hump with us for taking up their space, or find somewhere else to go. These codes at times bear no resemblance to the generally used FTSE TIDM (previously known as Epic) codes used on this site. For example, BP uses the Epic 'BP.' yet Citywire use BP.L, and BAE uses the Epic code 'BA.' whereas Citywire use BAES.L. Hope tis helps. ATB.
