Yes 1981 investor, I think analysts target prices is one of the few things I do understand after all these years, and if they were always reliable and nothing else ever impacted financial markets we could all be rich.
No matter what nonsense I sometimes spout, there is always examples that prove me correct, and like most people I conveniently ignore the examples that prove me wrong.
So in order to prove me correct, recently Wood PLC shares leapt from a steady £1.50 to well over £2 on a bid of £2.30. It just so happens that the average analyst target was £2.40, and the initial bid was increased later to exactly that. But without looking I’m sure I could cite examples that prove me wrong, I’m sure lastminute.com during the dotcom boom was one.
1981 investor, I appreciate that analysts can be, and are often wrong with their targets, but, the average target price from 4 analysts is 75p based on todays reported resources and share price.
So one would not be shocked if Bubble was proved correct, but off course he could also be proved wrong, that’s investing for you.
Next stop the 30’s
No news, last RNS 2 weeks ago, no hard rumours, but still rising steadily.
Wish I knew why but who cares, just keep heading up to 70p or more and I’ll be happy.
Unless of course there is a bid incoming, in which case the timing of 30M share options may be a bit insiderish, so we can probably rule that out, though remembering we’re talking about Solg, maybe not entirely.
at a time when the share price is so low and trending downwards, that now would be a good time to release a positive RNS, nothing particular in mind, just something to shift the pointer from pessimistic to optimistic.
Of course there may be no positive news to release, in which case “any news is good news” would be a good starting point..
I believe if you study the income sheet you can see the status of options, but is there a record published anywhere of live and lapsed options and the prices as let’s face it there have been so many it’s hard to keep up.
To issue 30M share option to an individual based on meeting certain criteria and not outlining those criteria at the same time seems like more making it up as you go along to me. Announce the share options and then describe the targets or lack of them depending on the reaction to it, thank god it’s not just PI’s holding shares.
DG1”s 22:40 post just about sums it up for me.
Not to be seen as condescending there are many laws, and police investigations usually are to determine if any laws, plural, have been broken.
I was thinking in terms of the Companies Act and directors responsibilities, of which not fleecing PI’s.
The real reason for the post was to vent my frustration at how a Tier 1 asset can end up in a bin.
I suspect if Solgold operations were entirely in the UK the police would be asking a few questions by now.
There are of course rules that govern how Companies are run, they are just too lax.
A bit of a newbie in mining terms, Canadian, and according to Linkedin, seems to have more of an operations bias. I hope this doesn’t mean we are going down that route, waited long enough for a return, though my kids wouldn't be too disappointed if they got £10 or £20 a share after I’m gone!
Just to be clear, I dearly hope bubble is right or indeed Caldwell get’s £100m , but then gets run over by a bus the thieving twat.
If he gets it sold a 34p that gives him 5 million
If it’s 50p then he gets 10 million
So for bubble’s £1.32 it’s a whopping never going to happen £34 million
What does this all mean, it means I should have sold years ago at 44p and been happy with my 80k
Time to call in the fraud squad, thank god we have some large investors with a bit of clout.
Nearly a year since the last resource update in May, and since then, just noise about next cabs of ranks, desperation driven financial rescues, and tidying up mergers, the latter maybe as a result of pressure to get the $50m injection.
It’s being sold by the look of it but we’ve clearly not yet reached agreement on what Solg thinks the shares are worth. Broker average is 70p, the question is do the board think that’s too much to hope for, or do the likes of Mather and Sangha think it’s far too little after all this time.
I wish I knew, and I doubt the SR is going to give us the answers. So it’s back into the loft with the rest of the mushrooms while we await a new Solgold dawn.
“an” article even……edit post feature must be somewhere I expect, if only I knew where
Forgot to mention this was a copy and paste from to article signposted earlier from DBW
But some mining companies have not left the exploration stage for more than 15 years . There are two factors that are making this phase take longer, says Illescas. One is the increase in illegal mining , which has invaded concessions such as Imba 2 , in La Merced de Buenos Aires , in Imbabura. The mining concession was granted to Hanrine Ecuadorian Exploration and Mining , a subsidiary of Australian mining company Han**** Prospecting, but the company has not been able to enter to explore because there are illegal miners. The second factor is the opposition to formal mining , which has become more acute after the national strike in 2022, adds the former vice minister. “ We tell the large transnational mining companies , even if they have invested, they will not be able to develop mining in Ecuador,” warned the leader of the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (Conaie), Leonidas Iza, in January 2023. The opposition is also delaying the process for issuing environmental licenses required by companies that want to move into advanced exploration, Ycaza explains.
The majors don’t build mines, in the same way oil majors don’t build oil rigs and petrochemical plants, they manage the FEED and construction/ commissioning by contractors and then operate them going forward.
If you have the investment capital and the management skills then theoretically anyone can take Cascabel to production.
Of course the investment capital and management will almost certainly come from a major or JV including a major, but by no means the only option.
Strictly speaking Pbow you are correct, but they were one of the biggest explorers in the mid 20th century 30’s on.
Not2sure, can you name any of the majors who didn’t start as explorers?
