PS: That was based on the PFS Expansion Case NPV by the way - hopefully we're about to secure that with a >=40mt resource upgrade.

@ backwoods - there was lots to it but the gist was "80% of the NPV 8%" (which someone else paid in the comparitive buyout deal) plus T1 added and then add the increased value of our 6% MOD holding to arrive at 6s worth to MTR. You would then add our cash/assets outside of MOD to that.

Again, I must repeat that the guy was trying to work out how a +6s (to MTR) deal could be "justified" and the reason for him doing that was because the other guy who really knows what he's talking about had said he thought it was worth 6s to us. FYI, this was off the back off a thread of conversation re MOD's (highly justified) fear of a hostile T/O coming in and where the MOD SP really should be now etc.

Hope that makes sense - I'm loathe to just copy in the direct text etc because it wasn't made to me but to someone else who shared it with me and I don't share directly if I'm not 100% sure that the OP is ok with me doing the same :)

The long and short of it re a hostile T/O is that MOD need to bag their SP stat.

Let's see what turns up in the coming days.

BTW, someone showed me a calculation done using a recent post-PFS buyout based on the NPV and using T3 *alone* to project an MTR SP value of 6s - that was done by someone who REALLY knows what he's talking about.

No two deals are identical of course but you can see, even with a broad margin of error, what may happen here if MOD keep making/proving the T3-alike noises at these new seven domes they're drilling - there's only ever so much the "market" will gift to you and that gift *always* has an expiry date on it.

None of it matters of course, only the news, when we get it.

It's looking increasingly like sideways here to facilitate the sub-3p boot-filling until then, with games of course :)

I think we're guaranteed some games over the coming period - they shouldn't need to do that of course so there must be a reason they're having to resort to it.

Ultimately and shorter-term targets aside, I can't help but wonder just how much n million shares bought at 2s may be worth in another four years time if you've got the nuts and the foresight to go for it.

BTW, I'm not just referring to the SP there - I mean how the market and PIs perceive MTR, what it offers investors in terms of potential upside, downside risk and on an ongoing basis to boot, not just this current cycle of the Copper plays but future projects too. As an investment vehicle it takes some beating imo, the track record is there for all to see - hence that 60x mcap in just four years.

I think there's a (powerful) Guiding Hand at play here and have thought that for a long time now.

Funny thing is Chesh, if you were to have asked me even six months ago what my overall feelings were of MTR I'd have said that I think the hairy MTR caterpillar is about to break out of its cocoon and fly away in the form of a beautiful butterfly.

I've thought for a good while that there's more to this TIger than meets the eye - that's not just now-talk, I've said as much to 162 on a number of occasions this year.

@ Dakad - Don't even try and "read" it, you/we have no chance as to guessing/knowing why he "resigned" but presumably it was in the best interests of MTR ;)

I hadn't caught this morning up but I was up v late last night and the vol was pretty low early on so to end up with 10-11m (in old money) of volume would seem to be significant yes.
