Considering a discussion here about 'credits' - I especially liked the statement
"The zinnwaldite mica at Cinovec contains alkali metals other than lithium, including potassium, rubidium and caesium, which are leached into solution and will build up in the plant if not removed from the circuit."
I hope that measure will be taken to store refined by-products of processing the Li - even if, as suggested here, that Rb sales would be heavily taxed by Czech government, stored for a foreseeable future Rb market with a potentially very high demand - as has occurred with Li (and Helium for that matter) once a global application has been developed to make it commercially viable to mine. Best not waste potentially useful by-products.

I also liked the bullet point (amongst others) "· Cinovec LCAs will be benchmarked against global lithium peers."
and, as many here are already familiar "· UK-based and globally recognised sustainability and life cycle assessment consultancy, Minviro, engaged to provide an ISO compliant life cycle assessment ("LCA") of the Cinovec lithium / tin project."

Thanks for that 'gs' - not sure why they would tax it so heavily but we live and learn. A mineral that is likely to be in higer demand in the future though I sense.

A typical example is the Zinnwald/Cínovec Li-Rb-Cs-Sn-W deposit, which is hosted by the Cínovec-Zinnwald granite cupola and Teplice rhyolite.

Rb=Rubidium; Cs=Cesium: Sn=Tin; W=Tungsten - of course you all know what Li is - but look at proportionality of the deposit thickness - Rubidium is significant - more so than Tin.
Rubidium - Rubidium is used in vacuum tubes as a getter, a material that combines with and removes trace gases from vacuum tubes. It is also used in the manufacture of photocells and in special glasses. Since it is easily ionized, it might be used as a propellant in ion engines on spacecraft.

It is easily ionised so was considered for use in ion engines, but was found to be less effective than caesium. It has also been proposed for use as a working fluid for vapour turbines and in thermoelectric generators.

Rubidium nitrate is sometimes used in fireworks to give them a purple colour.
under 'Biological Role' section:-

then 'Natural Abundance' section:-
"It is recovered commercially from lepidolite as a by-product of lithium extraction."

This may be commercially viable - I do not know but a question to KC may provide a better understanding of other credits from the mine - though I have not seen any other than Li and Sn to be of significant quantities.
Maybe we have more ppm in Rb than Sn (Tin) - this is blowing my mind - there must be some rational explanation (perhaps the mining/extraction process) this has not been mentioned as another credit whilst processing Li. Read the above report extract - just that bit is mouthwatering !!!

Can we buy Rb ??
"Rubidium is consistently one of the priciest and most difficult to acquire pure elements. It is actually only rare in the sense that it is concentrated in a few commercially valuable minerals." (commercially viable minerals - like Li perhaps ??!!)
