I've noticed there is a further product code been inserted in the WHO pending approvals for GDR. Not sure what that approval would be, but if that is running alongside the original approval we may kill 2 birds with one stone and get 2 approvals at once. Perhaps that's why the dossier review is taking a while! https://extranet.who.int/pqweb/sites/default/files/documents/201215_eul_covid19_ivd_update.pdf
I am aware that both the Ukraine and Slovakia have been mentioned as potential customers for the multi million EU deal but has anybody considered Poland which also has a MOH? BC collaborated earlier this year with Warsaw Genomics to explore the RNA extraction process and BC recommended using the RNAdvance Viral extraction kit, bead-based chemistry that uses Solid Phase Reversible Immobilization (SPRI) technology. It showed significant agreement with positive and negative SARS-CoV-2 samples, and its methods can be readily automated. To my knowledge, I understand GDR are the only ones to have produced bead based technology for the Covid test but am willing to be corrected on that. Furthermore it was carried out on a Biomek machine which is what our test has been developed to run on. file:///C:/Users/Bob/AppData/Local/Temp/Genomics-Customer-Interview-RNAdvance-Viral-BECLS-Warsaw-Genomics.pdf In the testing section of the following link it states “Poland follows WHO recommendations and uses the RT-PCR molecular test for COVID-19 testing” https://www.covid19healthsystem.org/countries/poland/livinghit.aspx?Section=1.5%20Testing&Type=Section Are they waiting for WHO approval before a deal can be finalised? Just a thought!
South Africa, the worst hit country in Africa, enters a second wave of the pandemic as it registers 7,000 new cases on Wednesday We have the approval. Where are the sales? Now is the time DB
RE: Doubts about Govt approved LFT1 Dec 2020 10:09
In Leicester it doesn’t really matter how good the rapid tests are or not. They have just been sent 10,000 kits but can’t use them because they forgot to send out the barcodes with them. Yet another shambles!
With all the delays that have taken place I would think that the 1million indicative order and interest from the other 11 countries mentioned will have disappeared by now. I’m sure they will have sourced regular supplies of test kits from other companies and have probably lost all hope of Genedrive delivering the goods any time soon. Looking at the India figures on the ICMR website they are testing millions by the day and probably have sufficient suppliers for their needs without having to include Divoc for our tests. They do seem to be looking more towards rapid tests which is where the future lies and haven’t updated their PCR approvals recently. Has there been a problem with our validation as there were about 40 companies approved at the time we applied and now there are around 150 approved with no mention of GDR? It is also disappointing there are no sales to show in South Africa after approvals but as has been mentioned the rate of infection is slowing down as they move towards their summer and the requirement on the number of tests may have fallen. A major concern of mine is that other work has been put on the back burner whilst all efforts are thrown at Covid. As commendable as that is, they still need to keep their other revenue streams on target without delays. I hope GDR are well advanced into the saliva test with BC as I think this is where the future market will be. It would be great to hear news on that and the POC test and I’m hoping that we will soon have a strong foothold in the States. I have been invested here since April and will stick with it to see which way it swings and I’m sure all will be revealed soon. Here’s hoping ! IMO
