RE: Full 374 million contract27 May 2021 13:20
One thing I've noticed about Aim is how often the share price doesn't jump to where it really should be on good news, occasionally it does, but so often it doesn't. If it were announced that ODX had the full £374m contract, my guess is the SP would jump to just above the 52w high and sit there for months before eventually (assuming the contract is fully utilised) moving up to the 300p+ mark over the following year.
I guess it's really due to MM's playing protecting their bottom lines - a lot of, if not most, PI's would sell at the 52w high, so there's no rush to get the SP to fair value, particularly if all the MM's keep a wide spread. I remember watching FDEV move from the 100-200p and then sit in the 200-300p range for years despite a really successful software products, and so many PI's thought "well that's all the rise we're getting" sold up and moved on, and then one day the MM's finally let it go and it shot up to 1800p and then shortly to 3200p.
The MM's make most money when investor's don't - it's in their interests to wear investors down and accept getting out at a lower price with less (or no) profit - they're very, very good at it.
Patience is key. Wait for your target price.
