I'm in both. Each have their own investment potential but there's no way I can see RRE getting involved WOS. Gas is the way forward for AA's next acquisition.
Looking at SQZ's chart it's almost back to pre-covid/poo fallout levels. No reason why RRE can't achieve a similar gap up to the 1800 mark in a short period of time.
Oil may go up to a reasonable level eventually but there's always the opportunity for a good deal. PoO doesn't need to be particularly cheap to grab a good deal, the Marathon RTO been an example.

I also bought some at £4.25 in 2018. Never in my wildest dreams (nightmares?) did I envisage me replicating that kind of purchase over 18 months later...
