Spurs, I hear what your saying, however if that is the case why bother renegotiating the terms, what would be the point? If the results were exceptional then wouldn’t they just got to the market and raise additional funds? Maybe I’m just a glass half full guy, but I don’t think the situation can’t change on the basis of impressive study results.

Spurs, if the results from the trial are very positive I don’t believe they will sit on it for much longer. If they were let say “excellent” then possibly they will have other options available.

Hi HBD, I agree with you completely. My thinking is they didn’t opt for the accelerated process because they don’t want to forewarn the competition. Which, in my opinion is significant, because they are a molecule developer, so it makes sense to get patents granted ASAP, for licence or sale. So, that leaves a few possibilities hanging. 1) They have something very special which is worth the delayed publication 2) They need time to get their ducks lined up, production etc. Who knows, personally I think they have something special which they feel is worth the wait :-)

HBD, that’s true but I’m guessing they use some pretty clued up patent lawyers and have been successful so far with applications. Any interested parties will do extensive DD on the likelihood of it being granted. The beauty being if it is granted the
Protection runs from the filing date. So if a third party copied the invention prior to grant they would be liable for damages, this is a very strong deterrent due to the financial implications, particularly in the pharma field. Hence the warning of “patent pending”.

It’s a random thought ref our HNWI (s). Why did the bod feel the need to refer to them as HNWI, why not just say we’ve received an investment from a private individual. After all if an individual throws £1m+ at a AIM listed company that was sitting sub a penny shortly before, isn’t it obvious they are of high net wealth?

I think it indicates that the person (s) is someone very well known (Possibly BG as T2 has suggested). And the BoD, although clearly instructed not to reveal the identity were using the term as a statement of respect for the individuals status.

With regards to why they opted to delay the publication. I believe they have something that's related to covid, considering the interest in that field they were keen to ensure competitors didn't get a head start on their potential discovery. After all just because a patent application is filed it does not mean it will be granted, and the process can take many years. I believe they wanted to get the patent filed and therefore get the priority date fixed and then work on the finer details. Just my thoughts.

I agree with Potnak with regards to JR comment "the world will find out" . He was referring to the fact that they had opted for delayed publication of the patent, and in 18 months time when its published its then in the public domain, for everyone to see. I don't think he meant anymore than that.

That's correct T2, any income (sale or license) that relates to a UK patent benefits from a flat 10% CT.
I've been using a patent lawyer for the past couple of years and just discovered he was at AZ for 17 years, spending the last 8 as senior patent director.

So are we to assume Mr Parker tweet is confirmation that all of the below have been sorted. After all we can’t head to the clinic until they are.
