I could be wrong on that, surprising if that's the case. Still I stand by my point its just bluster. A yes to the deal or an extension on Monday I suspect. A yes and markets will probably react positively. An extension or god forbid a simple no and the markets will tank. 50/50. A simple no deal vote and I'd expect to wake up to the ftse down 5% or so.

It's all just bluster to make themselves look driven, all singing from the same hymn sheet. I see it being a close vote, but rejected, and Boris will request an extension to discuss it in more detail, maybe through an election campaign etc. EU would accept a delay under terms of an election or second referendum. They wouldn't accept a simple no deal from the UK, in that case they'd refuse an extension.

I very much doubt every nation would have to agree. If so nothing would ever be agreed at all in any form of EU vote

I read his words but I don't give them any weight. Its just bluster. I imagine the likely development will be UK has agreed in principle with a few points needing to be further clarified (Kind way of saying they disagree), and request an extension to end 2019 or some such move. Eu will have a face saving well UK just needs a little more time, but are generally happy. Kick the can down the road.

My take on it is that the conservatives have agreed a deal with Europe they like, but they can't get it through parliment without the other parties. Those parties mostly weren't allowed to input their two pence worth, so these amendments are their way to force the government to let them have their say and changes. Basically it's all a mess, I don't see any easy way forward with so many conflicting views and no clear majority.

Not really Fruit, as the UK MP's voted to table amendments on Saturday (In a defeat to Boris and Mogg), not a simple yes or no vote. In other words they could amend it to say let the UK people vote on it (backdoor second referendum), or accept it if these points are changed with EU (in effect a delay). Hundreds of amendments could be made, none of which the EU could agree without discussing. So in many ways Saturday is pretty useless, other than being used for further delays.

"The Leader of the House Jacob Rees-Mogg urges MPs to allow a debate on the Brexit deal in a special sitting of the House this Saturday". Notice the word urges. In other words MP's have to agree to debate it, which has zero chance of being the case in its current form.

They can't vote on that because of the Benn Act. Odd thing to suggest by Mogg, trying to bully maybe, but no chance that would be the vote.

Pounds getting slaughtered now too, so looks like the market does not believe anything will be decided (nothing positive anyway)

I doubt the majority of MP's will accept that. It's not a case of this deal or no deal, there's a whole range of other options that Labour / Lib Dems / SNP will wish to approve (Plus its in law now that we can't leave without a deal, an extension would have to be requested). Nothing will get done at the weekend in my view, in fact I'd be amazed if they even convened as there's no point right now.

I would have held for a higher rally today, but after seeing the commod and fx markets turn (and they are continuing to drop) I took that as a key to bank some gains and wait out any down move.

Sold out at 224. Looking for a 5% or so retrace. if I can make 5-10% on each trade then I'm happy. Doesn't always work of course, but been pretty successful in volatile periods like now

I agree Fruitster, RMG is dirt cheap, and long term I'm a buyer all day long. But trading the volatility helps make a few quid which will buy me more shares in the longer term.

I dont see how he can get it through on sat as DUP aren't happy and Lib dems already said they wont back it. Labour I suspect would rather an election than letting Boris get a deal done. Should be a volatile week. For now I've sold up and see if it drops to buy back in.

I'm following commodity markets and FX. using those as a more accurate indicator of brexit than politicians words. Generally commodities move based on the reality of it. They spiked on the news earlier, but they've all since reverted completely.

Personally see this dropping as the day goes on. Rumour bought, now the fact kicks in. Good day trading op

DUP is adamant they still reject the agreed deal. Basically Boris has just agreed something that basically is unlikely to get anywhere, oh the joy of politics.

Only issue is that DUP still says it hasn't changed it's position, and its still got to get through parliment which seems unlikely given lib dems and labours positions. I guess they can agree any deal they like but until its passed by all the parties it's going nowhere. Let's see if it reverts again...
