Given they are Chinese they would likely make a bid overnight uk time. Shorts would then wake up having to cover a gap at god knows what level. Whats a fair takeover price, 40p, 50p, 100p? No one knows what its worth to them.
Thought at the back of my mind is that if Fosun want it in its entiriety, rather than other companies coming in and buying parts of it then they are going to have to come out with a bid that is more valuable to TCG than the hundreds of millions for individual parts. That to me means that there's effectively a bidding war starting, even if its not clear as of yet.
Brutal for shorts. I'd like to say i don't like to see them lose their money, but with the sickening amount of bs they've been spouting, and the joy they've taken in the decline then quite frankly I hope they get their asses handed to them financially.
I don't buy into the fx argument myself. The GBP EUR has been floating around this level for the last 4/5 years. On any given day it can be plus minus 1% but over a period of time its relatively static. It gets alot of news headlines as its sexy to use it as a reasoning for all manner of things, but the reality is the pound has been pretty stable so has had negligible impact on companies profits.
That's the first time I've ever heard a short say it might take 6 months to get to zero (a short only usually cares about today or tomorrow). What was that famous saying? A long term trade is a short term trade gone wrong...
Why would I have any interest in telling an internet troll my financial situation? No one should give away personal information on message boards, and certainly not to the likes of you.
Its called trading JCM, maybe you could read about it. Your spread betting doesn't count, thats' simply gambling, of which by the sounds of how bitter you are today, you are not the luckiest.
I think there's a reasonable chance we try for 14 in a pre bank holiday weekend push. I imagine quite a few shorts will be a bit twitchy about holding over a long weekend given the bids flying about, so likely to see a few close prior to end of trading.
