" The production of SAF uses a lot of land and resources, creating issues surrounding food security, deforestation (!), water, and land use. This may result in competition for land used for other needs like food and housing.

Furthermore, despite the positive impact SAF has on the environment, the production and harvest of these feedstocks threatens other industries. For example, cooking oils are often used for livestock feed, or the paper industry which relies heavily on forestry waste.

Competition for the latter threatens overexploitation, threatening the natural environment. Im not opposed to many of these Net-Zero related policies in isolation, it's the cumulative effect on the economy and some of the dubious claims, offshoring production, taxing to control and coerce, etc.

Some opinions re SAF:

"Sustainable aviation fuels still emits some carbon dioxide, while the land use changes needed to produce the fuels can also lead to increased pollution. Ethanol biofuel, made from corn, is used in these fuels, and meeting the Biden administration’s production goal, the report found, would require 114m acres of corn in the US, about a 20% increase in current land area given over to to the crop.

In the UK, meanwhile, 50% of all agricultural land will have to be given up to sustain current flight passenger levels if jet fuel was entirely replaced.

“Agricultural land use changes could threaten global food security as well as nature-based carbon sequestration solutions such as the preservation of forests and wetlands,” the report states. “As such, SAF production may actively undermine the Paris agreement goal of achieving greatly reduced emissions by 2050.”

Reckless to drill before establishing flow from the existing suite imo.

If the drill isn't successful, raising cash for any further progress is going to be hugely dilutive, requiring millions more shares to be issued than would otherwise be required, thus disproportionately reducing upside from the remaining prospects.

Demonstrating flow and viability elsewhere first would effectively give us a free swing at the JC, with the SP underpinned rather than vulnerable to collapse.

Paul acknowledges that the drill is a "high-risk" event, this approach has LTHs with a higher average on the hook for a low CoS gamble on the outcome for a single drill, when the SP is at peak vulnerability.

When they say decarbonise, they mean higher prices and more tax - stop doing it, or pay a lot more privilege.

The National Energy System Operator, NESO, suggest that constraint payments to wind farm operators are due to reach £3 billion in 2030.

Supplier, Octopus Energy suggest that an additional £6 billion each year onto energy bills is more realistic.

Constraint payments to wind farm operators occur when it's too windy, for electricity that isn't being produced. Of course, we still need the electricity, so have to pay for it twice as gas power stations are forced to take up the slack.

It's a similar story when it isn't windy enough. Recent calm weather resulted in NESO being forced to pay £745 per megawatt hour, more than seven times the typical cost, to order Connahs Quay power station to start generating to meet demand, with wind speeds insufficient to generate power.

Stormy weather has seen large wind farms shut down completely, however, constraint payments ensure the overseas operators of these farms still get paid whilst idle.

Something i had not considered - large numbers of local people had seen the attacker in person. When the media, at the direction of Starmer, reported that he was a reserved young Welsh choirboy - doubtless suspicion was raised that the Gov were attempting to mislead, given the complete disconnect with the impression being given and his previous behaviour.

Similarly, the image later released of the attacker, depicting a very young boy, has no resemblance to the terrifying individual that boy had become, and who people had seen prior to, and immediately after the attack.

The details are harrowing.

Killer stabbed victims over 200 times.

Those hiding in toilet heard children begging killer to stop.

The injuries suffered by Elsie, who was killed in the studio, were so horrendous that many of them cannot be reported.

She had 85 injuries in total. There were a number of defensive injuries that suggested she had been putting her hands in the air at the time.

Bebe, whose body was found at the top of the stairs, had been subjected to at least 122 injuries across her whole body. She too, had defensive injuries.

A large number of family members left the courtroom before the appallingly graphic details were read out.

Alice managed to get out of the building alive, but her blood was found in the studio near the tables around which the children were gathered making bracelets, suggesting she was initially stabbed there.

She was taken to Alder Hey hospital but was pronounced dead at 1am the next morning.

Truly harrowing footage has been played in court showing the moment the children first run screaming in terror from the building.

The children said to be making bracelets immediately prior to the attack.

In another clip, a young girl is seen attempting to run out of the building before being grabbed by Rudakubana and dragged back inside.

She emerges moments late, stumbles a few steps, and then collapses. As the footage was played in court there were audible gasps and sobs from the public gallery.
